Japanese New Year Beads 3

Japanese New Year Beads 3

(AyakoHattori)
Here is another my New Year bead. It is one of very typical flower arrangement for New Year. I know lily is not traditional Japanese flower, but it is very popular now. We need some bright and sweet flower on dim winter day. We arrange lily with some Japanese traditional new year items. I arranged pink and white lilies with sarcandra glabra.

In last New Year holiday, I visited Australia. I found the flower on the road near Melbourne. I don’t know the name exactly, but I think it is African Iris. It is not native Australian, but I made the bead because it is beautiful.

In Japan we usually make bead jewelry with leather code. So our tonbodama usually has a hole from side to side. But in Western world you make jewelry of bead with hole from top to bottom. I think it must be good for pendant. Then I try one.
And my American friend suggested that white flower on purple must be beautiful. How do you think of it?

07-20-2021: Galileo IV is sending new pics from Jupiter moon IO "down" to earth. A new area with water was found: Little jellyfishes are floating on a river surface in the midst of the red volcanic desert. We are not alone !!

Many pieces from Spring 2008 with murrini. It is not about being pretty. It is about having meaning. I seperate the "pretty" from the bead sometimes, and that is odd to some people; fascinating to others. (the subjective thing...)
I personally have always had an attraction to the RAW free flow of materials, combined with universal references...
st... and real life events inspire me; symbolism and figures...
