Flat fish but not flounder!

Flat fish but not flounder!

(Glassymom)
Here are a few more fish. These guys are pretty small and are flat. Tied on a bit of fishing string like I just caught them! I have been thinking of etching them. Not sure, will have to think about it. I like this style tho, I think I'll try some more!

Polar Bear Mother and Cub

Polar Bear Mother and Cub

(KoiCreekBeadworks)
I've made several types of beads from Effetre Pastel Ivory because it looks exactly like walrus ivory. Being from Alaska, this is my way of paying homage to the Alaska Native artists who make such wonderful sculptures from walrus ivory.

Generic Brand Pig

Generic Brand Pig

(Gelly)
You know, the items that are wrapped in black and white labels and are half the price of the same items with brand names, that come in more colorful packaging.

Well, I know there are lots of folks that like to purchase generic brands, so I decided it was time to make a generic pig. Starting price is half that of a name brand pig. No fancy name or colorful wrapping, just a black and white pig. He is made of the same ingredients as his more expensive counterparts, made in the same studio, made with the same love and care, and is just as cute!

Grandmother Earth, Nunkui, and Her Guiding Souls

Grandmother Earth, Nunkui, and Her Guiding Souls

(Angelinabeadalina)
Nunkui, or Grandmother Earth, is one spirit revered by the Shuar of the Amazon rainforest. Nunkui is the spirit of the Earth, and I envisioned her as a warm and soulful grandmother face surrounded by animals. This is my necklace featuring Nunkui and some guiding souls-- the owl for wisdom, the fish for the water and plenty, and the frog who happily inhabits water and trees in the rainforest. I don't often wear jewelry, but I am a glass artist who needs a bio picture for a gallery...and I figured maybe, just maybe, I ought to make a piece of my own to wear in the picture :) You know what? I bought a green shirt and a soft blue cotton sweater to wear with the necklace, and now here I sit in a coffee shop wearing "real" clothes and a pretty cool necklace. Hmmmm, I think maybe I should start getting used to wearing jewelry. . . naaaaaaah, dressing up once in a blue moon is fun, but I'd rather wear old t-shirts, holey jeans, and sit in front of a really hot torch :)
Lil' Toad & Toadstool/Mushroom Focal Set

Lil' Toad & Toadstool/Mushroom Focal Set

(BeverlyTaylor)
Lil' Toad & Toadstool/Mushroom Focal Set, dark red cap with white dots, ivory stem with silver foil and clear, the mushroom measures 1 1/8" tall by 1" wide. For the toad I used enamels on a base of light ivory with Raku dots on the back and black eyes, measures 3/8" tall by 7/8" long, both beads were made on a 1/16" mandrels with the hole running north and south.
The Water Sprite's Adventure

The Water Sprite's Adventure

(Angelinabeadalina)
When no one is looking, the water sprites come out to play in the aquarium. Peering into those little castles with the moving draw bridges, they sometimes play a game to see who can race across the bridge before it closes. When the fish gather closer to watch the game, the water sprites invite them to play, too. Oh, the fish love the fun spirit of the water sprites, love them so much that even the skittish ones will let a water sprite ride upon their backs. . .and thus began this tiny sprite's water adventure!

Sierra Catz

(SierraCatzLampwork)
SierraCatz were born in the Sierra Foothills near Placerville, CA. They all reflect my love for the unique feline personality. No two are alike - what cat is? Color plays a big part in their style...hope you enjoy my herd of kitties.

Tiger

Tiger

(Killerbeedz1)
I have been having a lot of fun creating tigers lately. It requires me to make two beads and then connecting them with a wire. I've been wearing my favorite as a pin.
first kitty

first kitty

(Glassymom)
This is my first kitty. My daughter asked me to make her a dog like her own. Her dog is a very sleek looking chihuahua so I figured if I could make a cat I could get it to look close enough.....not this color tho! Figured I'd practice first! He looks a bit like a siamesse cat other than the pink nose. (got to remember not to heat the nose so much!)
