Ravens and Crows
(
AnnaDuhame
)
They may not be the most musical of birds nor the most colorful but they have a certain mystique about them. I raised a baby crow that had fallen out of a nest. He was the most intelligent bird and visited me occasionally after I had released him.

Octopi
(
AnnaDuhame
)
I kind of fell upon these in an attempt to make a very imaginative bead with the flavor of the sea but without the realism. I made swirling scrolling designs and then decided to add dots, and what did I see, but the tentacles of an octopus? So much for abstract, but I still like them just as much!

When i visited my Nakoda friends years ago they learned me things about nature in this case the bear

It was -13 degress this morning -- good weather to stay inside and make beads! I feel just like these Arctic Fox beads -- curl up in a ball and wait until spring!

Sea Otter and Star Fish Hollow Fish Float
(
KoiCreekBeadworks
)
One of my goals this summer is to find a fish float on the beach in Homer (actually, it's my goal every year and so far I haven't found one). Maybe this year will be my lucky summer!

Raven Moon
(
KoiCreekBeadworks
)
Ravens and full moons are a winter staple here in Alaska. This is a 2" lentil bead, and the detail is hard to reveal in a photo since it is a curved shape!

Midnight Romance

My cat seems to me the biggest romantic EVER....well, maybe he just like the thrill of the chase, hahaha....the beads on this page were inspired by "his royal naughtyness". ;-)

Tiny Toad Beads
(

Toads are very interesting symbols in most cultures. Abundance, transformation, and longevity are some of their most appealing attributes.
Hi... they were believed to carry a stone in their head which was purported to be a universal medicine.

BirdWoman the ShapeShifter 3/15/08
(
Angelinabeadalina
)
Some say shamanistic cultures have been with us since humankind could communicate with one another. I'm just beginning to read The Quest for the Shaman by Miranda and Stephen Aldhouse-Green. Whether or not you like the word "shaman," the concept of someone who intercedes with the spirit world and uses this to heal others is a fascinating one. In some cultures, these chosen ones shift from human to another form of being, often to that of the spirit that will guide them in the astral world.
BirdWoman the ShapeShifter comes from all the things I've read about different cultures, from Egyptian to Tibetan to South Americans. She could be called a composite, but for me, she is simply who she is. . . a woman who can commune with the birds, learning from owl's wisdom, sharing longevity secrets with the cranes, singing with the songbirds.

Klara cow
(

I like cows, I use them regularly in my artwork. This is my first try in making my kind of cow in glass.
There are actually two beads here one for the head and one for the body

Ursa Minor
(
NaosGlass
)
The first Mini Ursine set of the year! Bears represent strength and perseverance through times of adversity and change. They also represent the right of every one us to retreat to the Soul Cave if we need to , so we can heal and come out refreshed for a new season of Life.

Dolphin Dreams
(
NaosGlass
)
I am VERY excited to present this particular piece to you. In the first photo, I clearly see a Dolphin that has decided to play in my seascape - just waiting for someone on shore to accept the invitation! :)
Dolphins have such great energy - fun loving, compassionate, intelligent beyond words...They represent Joy, Harmony, Intelligence and Connection to the Self. This happy "accident" is one of the many reasons I love playing with glass. As Forrest Gump would say "You never know what you're gonna get!" Definitely one of a kind!
