Ravens and Crows
(
AnnaDuhame
)
They may not be the most musical of birds nor the most colorful but they have a certain mystique about them. I raised a baby crow that had fallen out of a nest. He was the most intelligent bird and visited me occasionally after I had released him.

Ganesha, the Hindu god of Success, Peace, & Wisdom
(
Angelinabeadalina
)
*9-6-06 Just added another Ganesha...This little journey started with a teenager's request for a peace sign and a yin yang sign. Searching for a yin yang sign to look at, I opened John Bowker's book GOD A Brief History. On the way to the Tao section, I saw beautiful Hindu and Buddhist paintings and sculptures. The color combinations were intoxicating, and the textures were so rich. The Hindu god with the elephant's head seemed particularly ornate. He's Ganesha, and he brings success, peace, and wisdom. Voila', another peace sign! Here are my versions of an abstract line drawing of Ganesha:

Twisted Whiskers!
(
AnnaDuhame
)
My cats have been evolving! I have wanted to put whiskers on my cats since I started making them, but couldn't get consitent results. The other day when rummaging through my "stuff" I found a spool of niochrome high temperature wire...BINGO! It is applied into the cheeks while hot. Any loose pieces are secured with two part expoxy resin. These guys have a lot of character. I can't wait to make more!!!

Dragonflies
(
MandyWilliams
)
A new design that was a long time in the making! I studied the many dragonflies around the pond by my house before deciding on a design plan and then practicing and changing it until I came up with the beads you see here!

Big Cat Masks
(
AnnaDuhame
)
I love masks, and adore making faces out of beads. I also adore cats in all shapes and sizes. I wanted a fun, artsy way of creating a "mask" or face of a big cat.

Owls!
(
AnnaDuhame
)
I think owls are some of my favorite birds. I once rescued one that had been hit by a car...I thought I was helping a cat, imagine my surprise when I got closer and saw a great horned owl in the road before me. It didn't appear to be alive, yet I couldn't just leave it in the road. As I scooped it up, it's eyes opened and boy, it looked surprised to see me! Although I was not wearing any protective gloves (which isn't to be done when handling owls!), this owl was so gentle. It softly grasped my fingers with it's talons and pushed off and flew away. I watched breathlessly, and when I looked at my fingers I saw the faintest of scratches. I could have been really ripped to shreds, but I was not.

Birds
(
AnnaDuhame
)
I can't believe I don't have a "gallery" just for birds...I make a lot of them.....there is always something magical about a creature with wings....wish I had them!

Water Gardens
(
AnnaDuhame
)
There is a certain look that you get with clear glass and swirling frit that always makes me think of looking into water. Everytime I do it, that is the thought that goes through my mind so I decided that this time I would embrace it.

Turtles
(
AnnaDuhame
)
I don't know why it took me so long to really get into making turtles. Here I have jeweled turtles and totem turtles...very enjoyable to make and it is always nice to find a new use for a lentil!

Here are a few animal beads that I've made in the last year. Some of them come from custom pet portraits that I love doing and some were just for fun. I will keep adding more, because I love making them.
