~A Loon Song~

~A Loon Song~

(Fyrebeadz)
After rowing out on our back lake yesterday and watching the loons that have been there all summer I came home and lit the torch determined to make a set of Loon beads. This is the result. I was going to put them up on ebay but I've decided they are going to be mine, they are just calling to me. I will use some faceted black onxy and faceted garnets to make a necklace with them and I will use the matching focal bead too. September 4, 2006

Curved Beads

Curved Beads

(LesleyMcFarland)
These are my curved beads, they are quite difficult and time consuming to make but I think they make lovely beads for a necklace and open a whole realm of possibilities, I am still exploring so more will appear of different design as I go along.
I hope you enjoy looking at them.

Dragon Skin Beads

Dragon Skin Beads

i've been practicing my encasing recently and i love these dragon skin beads, i've been trying out different colours, after all they are mystical creatures and can be any colour i like
Melting Snow

Melting Snow

(VivianLampworkBeads)
These beads are made with pixie dust & handblown shards which create the illusion of melting snow. The round beads are rolled in crystal frit which gives the illusion of snowballs.
Silver Core Beads

Silver Core Beads

(HeartFire)
I fell in love with the beauty of silver core beads while I was waiting for my torch to arrive. I just knew that I had to make them! It has taken time to learn the basics of the riveting process but the end result is incredibly rewarding. And, I have so much to learn! Thank you for looking at my beads.
FocalRings

FocalRings

(HardwoodTrailGlass)
I really enjoy making these large holed beads and wear 3 of them on a sterling silver ball chain as is. I like to hear them 'clank' together AND I can change them if I want to quickly! :)
They also can be worn as rings, a bonus!

Handshaped Sets

Handshaped Sets

(Elasia)
I like to handshape my beads, but I do have 2 presses now :P
...so those on another page

But I hope this shows a little that I like to play with new shapes, reactions, and seems I'll never have a "signture look" to my beads but that's fine.
...it's the creation that matters not the hype ;)

These are some samples I have made recently using my humungous frit collection. I can readily admit that I am a frit and glass addict. When it comes to addictions there are far worse things to be addicted to!
Nigella

Nigella

(KokoroBeads)
Just a simple little set, but I still like it . The blue and white gives me a feeling like Spring is just around the corner. Which is strange since blue and white should remind me of snow and Winter.

A Valentine's Portfolio of Whimsey and Fun

(RickieVogesDesign)
Here are a few of my current designs featuring a Valentine's theme. A little more cutesy and girly than my typical designs--they have a dash of feminine sweetness, just like the holiday itself.

In early 2007, we were invited by an artist friend to participate in the third annual Girls Girls Girls art show. We'd done craft shows before, of course, but never an ART show. It isn't a terribly uptight art group - the theme was "Black Velvet" - but we still scratched our heads trying to figure out how we could make our little tiny beads fit into the show. This is what we came up with!
Bead Sets

Bead Sets

(MaryCLockwood)
I have the utmost respect for set makers. It is rare for me to make a whole set of beads, I would say that I lack patience, but I'm not sure that is it. I could spend 2 hours on a single focal and if that isn't patience, I don't know what is. Anyway, kudos to those of you who consistently turn out brilliantly put together sets. It's hard! This gallery showcases every set I've made in the last four years. Lots of you guys could make this many sets in a few weeks.

I love working w/ this combo again and again...thanks Smiley. Only 2 colors and clear were use to create these zigzag beads. This is one of the reasons I love working w/ Boro so much...the colors ROCK! ;)
