UPDATED 12/19/06! Well, I guess this gallery will be just for December of 2006. Doesn't seem right that the year is almost over! Pretty soon, it will be the 2007 galleries! Until then...

Hi everybody !
I am back from summer vacation :-)
... and I was sharing a Kriya-Yoga class for one week. Now I am full of power and have a great shiny set of big beads for you. They come along with some disc beads and many many little spacer beads. I LOVE arranging my bead sets with all these schnickschnack. Enjoy ! ~~~

These are a few of my more recent sets that I have had the privelage to make. Also, for those of you that are fellow glass artists, I have included the colors that I use and also some striking information. I know that when I first started out it was always helpful when colors were listed on other artists sites.

These beads are one of my favorites types to make! They almost have a mind of their own when they are being formed. I figured out how to make them when I didn't have any dichroic around, and now they are some of my favorites! It's amazing what can happen when you run out of supplies! Lol.

These are my most recent bead sets. Aged Denim has pure silver and I have etched them for an aged look.

Lampwork beads made by Vivian Maddux of Cullman, Alabama.

These are some collections of my beads that I have made to reflect something maybe one would have found during ancient times. I really like the way all of these turned out!
Crystals

Crystals

One of my absolute fave shapes to make. I like to keep it simple with the clear encasing to bring out the colors of the frit blends beneath. I always try to mix up the coordinating beads as the encased crystals stay the same :)

I have been making glass beads for a while now after a 20+ year stint as a potter.
From the first day on the torch I fell in love with glass and the possabilities it presented.
I love the magic and mystery of it all.
I get a thrill working with the molten glass and trying to mold it into my vision of what the bead should be. Most of what I do are organic beads formed with very earthy colors but one day a week I have the "get funky" torch session where I work with colors and techniques I don't ususally use.

This is the first week of July, our summer is just beginning with 90+ degree days and humidity above 50%. I'm thinking October evenings are sounding mighty good. These beads bring falling leaves and acorns to my mind.

Watch the evolotion. Here you see bead sets that sold back in 2004. Wow, was I cool then. It seems so long ago I can almost picture the 80s hair. Wait...that was only 2 years ago. It's when I first started making Truffle beads (shown here). Man, they were cool too. I remember getting $122 for a set of 5 and about fainted. But those were the days before all kinds of funky shapes were everywhere. Sure, people were making different shapes but most of what you would see were the old standards, rounds, bicones, barrels, flattened tabs. I invented the internet with Al Gore, didn't you know that?

Each update, I will post my newest beads into this gallery. The older images will be redistributed into the other subcategories and still available for viewing.

All images in this gallery are beads that are available for sale at the various festivals and shows that I attend. If you wish to find out the purchase information for any of them, feel free to email me.

After rowing out on our back lake yesterday and watching the loons that have been there all summer I came home and lit the torch determined to make a set of Loon beads. This is the result. I was going to put them up on ebay but I've decided they are going to be mine, they are just calling to me. I will use some faceted black onxy and faceted garnets to make a necklace with them and I will use the matching focal bead too. September 4, 2006

Curved Beads

Curved Beads

(LesleyMcFarland)
These are my curved beads, they are quite difficult and time consuming to make but I think they make lovely beads for a necklace and open a whole realm of possibilities, I am still exploring so more will appear of different design as I go along.
I hope you enjoy looking at them.
