The Blooming

The Blooming

(HeartFire)
This is a small set that I made on Friday, I made a rose cane that didn't turn out perfectly for sure but I like the sort of watercolor effect from the cane. I really like the colors, I have been sitting one a pound of Opal Yellow and finally made something with it.

Thank you for looking

Psychedelic Vibes ...
When you turn the beads sidewards, you will discover little stars around the beadholes.
... Nicely arranged for a great necklace.

... is another set with beads of the same complicated design. The donats have soft and feminin shapes and I combined the big beads with many tiny spacers in handpulled yellow, which strike from creamy to red tones.

I do not make many sets because I get kind of tired of making the same basic bead over and over, but I've learned you don't have to do that to make a nice set. So here are the ones I've made this year!

In the Merry Merry Month of May '07

(RickieVogesDesign)
Just like every spring is a new beginning, May comes 'round but once a year. I've taken a break from my ocean themed bracelets for a fresh new look at some of the lampwork in my collection--clean, cool and sleek for those warm summer days! Come take a look at what's new!
Madame Butterfly

Madame Butterfly

(RickieVogesDesign)
Something simple and clean for summer in a wonderful coral, black and white combination with a few additional accent colors. This bracelet was created with exquisite lampwork straight sided lentils from Manuela Wutschke, simple sterling silver beads and bead caps and carved onyx lentils--graceful and elegant with an Asian essence.

These are two sets that I made recently with stringers of my currently favorite reactive glass- I just can't get enough of it! :-D

One set has a base in teal, and the other one- rubino.

Inked Spirals Earrings

These lovely earrings are made with handmade Lampwork Beads, Hand Wrapped Sterling Silver and High-Fired Greek Ceramic Beads dipped in Fine Silver. They hang approximately 2.25 inches including the handmade Sterling Earwires.

The GORGEOUS Lampwork beads are made by Evolving Beads. They do such magnificent detailed work!

Girl from Ipanema

Girl from Ipanema

This bracelet is not satisfied just to stroll through life un-noticed. It doesn't need to call attention to itself--the style and drama draw the eye and admiration like a beautiful girl turns every head for a lingering glance,as she obliviously strolls the beach. Pure elegance, unaffected, and sure to capture your heart.

2 matching sets- one of triple-colored-bases hollows, and a matching set of baby beads. The set of hollows is called "Seven Days in Mexico", and the set of baby beads is "una semana"- spanish for "one week". I'll be visiting my family in Mexico next month, for a week! can ya tell I'm excited? :-D

Whoa, it's been a LONG time since I've posted anything here, yikes.

These are done in my 'Mosaic' style, shocking I know, but the colors are bright and fun, still perfect for summer or fall. :)

Well, I'm off to Rome in a few weeks so it's only logical that my thoughts are turning to the antiquities on the Mediterranian coast with all the reading and planning I've been doing. This bracelet made me think of the lavish jewels worn by a patrician Roman lady with it's facinating colors and seashore themed jewels.
Lazy Daze

Lazy Daze

August is the month of vacations, lots of sunshine and warm days. Sometimes I'd like to be my cat when it curls up on the chaise lounge to just soak in the warm sunshine and drift away the day. This bracelet with it's sorbet colors and sunny disposition sets me thinking about the the pleasures of a lazy day when you empty your mind of all your cares and get that lazy daze void of everything but the beauty around you.
