Jumping on the Spring Bandwagon

Jumping on the Spring Bandwagon

(Angelinabeadalina)
"March Pinks", that's what Granddaddy called daffodils. I still have no idea where that name came from, except that the first daffodils of the year are so much more than just a splash of yellow. They're an amazing herald of spring, the same as that first robin you see bobbing around the yard. So, with snow on the ground and spring on my mind, I tried a couple of daffodils. Plenty of other people have done them, but I had to try to figure them out myself. Hope my beginning attempt brings a little sunlight indoors for you!

It's no secret that I love floral beads in all their variety. Encased florals, figural florals, applied florals, in all their variety they are a delight to design with...so here is a sampling of my favorites--old and new! Come on in and smell the roses!!!
Dragonflies

Dragonflies

(AnnaDuhame)
Dragonflies are always mysterious with their shiny iridescent colors and large eyes. I think they look especially beautiful next to richly colored flowers.

Evocotive scents on a dark moonless night but the garden is full of blue flowers that bloom on and on. I used hand pulled canes I made to create this little work of art. I am loving everything about this bead! March 2007

I had a lot of fun making a floral at the start of almost every glass session for a few weeks in late February and early March! These are my favorites of the batch.

Shhhhhh, don't tell Grandma or Grandma Vicky, but these flowers are what I'm using to make their Easter presents. Gotta get them done before long, too, so quickie looks while I'm here and longer talks when I get home Monday :)
The Blooming

The Blooming

(HeartFire)
This is a small set that I made on Friday, I made a rose cane that didn't turn out perfectly for sure but I like the sort of watercolor effect from the cane. I really like the colors, I have been sitting one a pound of Opal Yellow and finally made something with it.

Thank you for looking

I spend a lot of time hand pulling wispy canes in a rainbow of colors for my floral focals, and my workbench is covered with them! I love the look of a hand-pulled wispy cane, they can be soft and sweet, or bold and vibrant!

I got hooked on making these pansies beads for a customer. She wanted floral beads for a beading class. I developed these for simple pendants and earrings and enjoyed making them. SPRING IS HERE!

I am a big bead kind of girl. I have reluctantly done sets, but I really enjoy just one big ole' honkin' bead, ya know? Here's a taste of some of my faves.
