Amazing! Freeze & Fuse

Perhaps you've heard of the new freeze and fuse technique! Check out this stunning sterling silver pendant built around a glass focal bead. The bead was created in three firings. The first firing created a pate de verre component. The second firing created the bead, which was then cold worked. The third firing tack fused the pate de verre to the bead and fire polished the bead. A long, pain staking process, but the resulting bead was worth it!

The bead is hung from a hand fabricated sterling silver finding on a hand made classical loop and loop chain of woven fine silver.

Bumpy Beads

This is what i've been working on lately. I'm trying to get in the habit of making sets, so that I can turn them into jewelry. These are the ones that I made up today.

The handcrafted lampwork beads I incorporated in this design, inspired a simle yet, elegant fashion necklace & earring set. As I seem to often do, I hand wire wrapped the beads to 14/20 Gold plate flat curb chain.

I used this as a focal on a strung pearl necklace, but found I was limited as to what I could wear it with. I re-worked the focal into a new design using chain and hand wire wrapping...

Determined to support and share the concerns of these non-profit foundations by providing additional funding. My hope is that by joining with others who are working toward the same goal, we can use our artistic talents to make the world a better place. This bracelet went up on silent auction to help raise "Adoption Awareness" through the Dave Thomas Foundation in 2005. Fetched a pretty penny too.

Of everything I've ever made this is my favorite ever. I used Black Onyx, Rainbow Tourmaline, Peridot, Smoky Quartz and whatever the pink stone is. How embarrassing, I've forgotten. I made the XL lentil beads using frit, silver and glass canes I made. It is gorgeous and I kept this for myself! Just could not part with it! December 2006
