Love Potion Number 9

This is another collaborative piece with Theresa Bishop of Lawson's Fork Glass Beads. She loves to torch, I love to make jewelry, she gets the jewelry, I get paid in beads, everybody wins :)

I love this little bottle-shaped bead, with it's deep midnight blue color and its swirls of raku it has a real hoodoo feel to it and all I could think about was the song "Love Potion Number Nine" when I looked at it. I didn't want it to be confused with a vessel so I constructed the "stopper" with sterling beads and a natural jasper bead.

Now that I've finally found a lampwork artist whose beads are perfect for my Dragon Eggs series and really speak to me and breathe life into my jewelry I can finally get back to the business of making Dragon Eggs pieces.

The spectacular SOLID lampwork focal in this particular pendant is a BIG honker. As the lampwork artist calls these beads, a handful of happiness! It measures 23.4mm by 16.9mm wide and it's got an amazing touchy-feely quality about it. The encasing clear glass not only magnifies the twisty raku swirls but also gives them an absolutely hypnotic effect. This spectacular bead was made by Elly Peters - ellyloo to you! It is mounted on 18K yellow gold with a custom-altered 18K yellow gold bead cap, Crystal AB Swarovski® crystal rondelles and black onyx.

We LOOOOOOOOOOVES IT, My Precious! ;)

Oh yeah - the title's no reflection on the bead, it's the title of one of my favorite songs of all time!

Honest ~ I don't even think I can reproduce this. Messy aka CIM aka Creation Is Messy - this glass hades.. is excellent with working it off mandrel as it is a stiffer glass which will hold it's own out of the flame as well as intotheflame.

Still haven't come up with a name for this one, it's being evasive. I think it wants to have something added to it still. I'm working on it!

The bead is 1.1" wide, .85" from hole to hole. It's encased, so you can see the pattern on the bead in a magnified manner when you turn it around.

I just think it's cool :D

This is my son's pendulum, he hasn't named his yet :) His has two larger cut crystals and is actually now fixed on a bar pendant on a leather cord. His friends think it's all VERY Harry Potter, which he hates. (That they think that - he LOVES Harry P. though!)

The base of this magical garden is made with Belgian Lace. Delicate copper mesh hides underneath a clear bright encasing. Precious DoubleHelixGlass is the breeding ground for eleven wonderful flowers made with handmade murrinis.

The pendant is worked with silver. A piece of coral has been added ...

My book about healing stones says that coral symbolizes joy and let the wearer enjoy life. It inurds to envy and jealousy ... helps to accept yourself better.
