Soul River - Handmade Bear Totem & Dream Catcher Necklace

Soul River - Handmade Bear Totem & Dream Catcher Necklace

(NaosGlass)
This is another collaborative piece with artist Jessy Wahl. I created the Bear Totem focal and wired the piece together, while Jessy made the Dream Catcher from scratch. The ribbon was hand-dyed and sewn by Kathleen of KAS Lampwork.

"Into this house, we're born. Into this world, we're thrown." - Jim Morrison

But we must weather the storms and if we're lucky, we can ride on top of them, surfing over the turbulence to find the rays of sunshine on the other side.

Now on Etsy!! This piece is a collaborative effort between myself and my dear friend, Jessy Wahl. Jessy made the Dream Catcher by hand, soldering the ring, twisting the 30G wire for the web, and adding heishi and a silver feather. I created the Bear Totem focal and wired the piece together. The ribbon was made by Kathleen of KAS Lampwork.

Past, Present, Future pendants

Past, Present, Future pendants

(BentWarpedAndTwisted)
Diamonds may be forever, but they're just not all that unique. One more or less looks like another. I decided to put a new spin on "Past, Present, Future" pendants by using three complementary colored and patterned lampwork beads that, in combination, form truly one of a kind pendants that can never be duplicated - even by the artists who made the beads - since lampwork glass has a mind of its own and is born of fire and the talent and inspiration of the artists who create it.

I hope you enjoy my new series, these pendants are available in my Etsy store and others will be made available in my BeadArtists.org marketplace store!

This .999 fine silver lampwork glass pendant puts a new spin on the "Past, Present, Future" concept by combining complementary beads to form a completely unique, one of a kind pendant that has been crafted with love from start to finish. The lampwork beads in this piece were lovingly created by Alexandra Spinglaschell of By The Sea Glass Art; they have been mounted on one of my handcrafted .999 fine silver head pins and accented with a round 4mm natural fluorite bead and several styles of .999 fine Thai Karen Hill Tribe silver Fair Trade beads that complement the patterns on the lampwork beads.

These beads feature a really cool mix of turquoise blues, white, purples and silvered glass that come together to look an awful lot like eyes, and the Stevie Ray Vaughan song just kind of popped into my head!

These beads feature a really cool mix of orange, yellow, white and turquoise blue in a really funky, trippy pattern that really brings to mind "with tangerine trees and marmalade skies..." from the equally trippy Beatles song!

The lampwork beads in this piece were lovingly created by Alexandra Spinglaschell of By The Sea Glass Art; they have been mounted on one of my handcrafted .999 fine silver head pins and accented with round 4mm black onyx beads and hexagonal .999 fine Thai Karen Hill Tribe silver Fair Trade beads that complement the patterns on the lampwork beads. These beads feature a really cool mix of black, lime green and vivid blue in a really mesmerizing, trippy pattern that I just love! The top bead has a black base layered with transparent glasses, the center bead has a black base and the bottom bead has a transparent base for a really nice combination of depths within the same color patterns.

This sterling silver pendant has been custom-crafted with a focal bead by Three Muses Glass which has been accented by sterling silver bead caps, 6mm blue agate and a .999 fine Thai silver Karen Hill Tribe bead. It includes a sterling silver split ring for use as a cell phone charm and a stainless steel key ring for use as a key fob.
Still Waters Run Deep

I created this fine silver head pin not knowing exactly how I was going to use it, then received this amazing focal bead from Alexandra Spinglaschell of By The Sea Glass Art and thought to myself "Hey, that looks like lily pads on a pond!" - so much for wondering what to do with my lily pad head pin!

Both the focal bead and the round bead have a color play that I can't begin to describe, the colors are layered in a way that you have to see in person to fully appreciate. The blues and greens just flow, creating a serenity on the surface that belies the depth below it.

Europa and Io

Something about these beads by Alexandra Spinglaschell of By The Sea Glass Art made me think of the moons of Jupiter, and while there are SO many to choose from, Europa and Io are the ones that popped into my head so that's how this piece got its name!
Reticulation

I LOVE the pattern on these beads by Alexandra Spinglaschell of By The Sea Glass Art - the way it slithers around the beads it reminds me of a reticulated python, giving its prey a SQUEEZE!
Twist & Shout

Twist & Shout

(BentWarpedAndTwisted)
The colors in this pendant are really wild and funky and the stripes just twist in all sorts of directions! The blues, yellows and oranges really complement each other and the buttery yellow jade and fine silver Karen Hill Tribe faceted twist beads tie everything together!

Yes, this one is named for that song. Yes, I'm a big huge Floyd fan. Yes, I realize that there's nothing about the pendant that would make most people think of the song, but these beads made me think of it, so that's what I called it :) Lampwork beads by Alexandra Spinglaschell of By The Sea Glass Art...
Love Potion Number 9

Love Potion Number 9

(BentWarpedAndTwisted)
This is another collaborative piece with Theresa Bishop of Lawson's Fork Glass Beads. She loves to torch, I love to make jewelry, she gets the jewelry, I get paid in beads, everybody wins :)

I love this little bottle-shaped bead, with it's deep midnight blue color and its swirls of raku it has a real hoodoo feel to it and all I could think about was the song "Love Potion Number Nine" when I looked at it. I didn't want it to be confused with a vessel so I constructed the "stopper" with sterling beads and a natural jasper bead.
