Revisiting Treasure Island

Revisiting Treasure Island

(RickieVogesDesign)
Using a familiar color theme of mine, with some spectacular lampwork by Dawn Scannell, this wonderful oceanthemed charm bracelet came to be. These wonderful lampwork beads were made with Double Helix reactive glass and just shimmer with irredescent splendor. They are couched on a sterling chain with Thai silver shells, loads of freshwater pearls and aquamarine gemstones, as well as a sprinkling of wooden beads for contrast and a mother of pearl disc.

Just a simple bit of whimsy here with one of Vickie Miller's adorable lampwork flipflops, a Tiffany McCoy conch shell, and sterling starfish, wired onto one of Rocio's Mexican sterling chains...doesn't it put a smile on your face?

Pretty little Double Helix seashells and beads from Tiffany McCoy glisten and ripple in their color shifting glory in the bracelet. I've embellished with Thai and sterling silver and my own little tassle charm for a simple and very wearable bracelet.

This bracelet started with a set of stunning lampwork by Manuela Wutschke. She took her inspiration for the set from the Spanish artist Joan Miro and her surreal art. The beads inspired me and in my imagination I saw birds on every bead---what do you think?

Well, she has to be strolling the beach with this adorable flipflop--painted toenails and all. Vickie Miller is the lampwork artist with such terrific style and creativity. I've also used a rectangular bead by one of my all-time favorite lampwork artists--Julie Wong. She hasn't been around much for quite awhile and she is sorely missed, as is her art. Notice the beautiful details on this bead--amazing control, don't you agree. I've paired these exceptional lampwork beads with some of my oxidized sterling Viking weave and faceted carnelian gemstones to complete this delightful bracelet.

This bracelet is in my popular slider style with large hole beads that slide on a thick 3.5mm woven chain. The colors in these stunning lampwork beads by Dawn White remind me of the sand dunes and swaying long grasses of the Oregon Coast--hence the name-Bandon Dunes. I've used sterling silver and 22k gold vermeil beads and findings for an eclectic and stunning bracelet.

Have you ever strolled through a field of sunflowers in the summertime? It's a beautiful sight and these lampwork beads by Kerry Caron capture the essence of just such a stroll. She surely was inspired by the art of Van Gogh--she captured the colors and style beautifully in this trio of lampwork. Think Garden with Flowers meets Vase With Sunflowers and you'll get the idea. These have been lovingly wirewrapped with sterling silver and Bali beads, carnelian and turquoise charms and finished off with a beautiful abstract sculptured flower by Manuela Wutschke. A miniature gallery for the wrist--three paintings and a sculpture.

A marriage made in heaven, PMC and my own lampwork discs. This piece features a large PMC faux box and PMC clasp. I patineaed it for an old time appeal. My beads are the prefect compliment, at least I think so! Sterling wire woven in an age old technigue also works wonderfully. Lots of hours went into this piece. Inspired by the work of Jill Rockwell. June 2008

Amazing as the winds of Katrina and Rita turned and reaked havoc, most of what came out of the design studio reflected the mood. This piece is simple. I call it TIDE POOLS as the color swirls remind me of the shallow waters of the Gulf as a young child. The darkness just seemed to enhance it all. Heavy accent pieces in Bali Sterling Silver, Signature Toggle and Genuine Swarovski Crystals.

This is my newest Gallery featuring my Chain Maille pieces! This is an ancient Tradtion of weaving metal rings together to form a chain. Its a painstaking process of opening and closing each ring seamlessly. But it produces a stunning end result.
