I made this piece for my best friend Liv's birthday :) Definitely Dragon Eggs, spent forever figuring out HOW to make it because it had to be perfect. The bracelet is also hers, the pendant on the suede lanyard is for her husband Michael, because the two of them are a perfect match and I wubs them both!

Hazy Shade of Winter

This is another commissioned piece done for Theresa Bishop of Lawson's Fork Glass Beads using a set of her amazing stained glass beads. The heart has been encased in clear, the periwinkle blue of these beads is just astounding, they really seem to glow from the inside out.

The periwinkle reminds me of a winter sky at twilight, the white howlite beads dance around them like snowballs, the garnets bring to mind the blood red of holly berries, the sodalite (both traditional blue and white and the more intense deep blue) evoke thoughts of a winter night and the rosy pink of the rhodonite remind me of the variegated pink poinsettias that my Grandma used to have every Christmas. I used diamond cut sterling beads because they reminded me of the sparkly, metallic Christmas tree ornaments!

I am so pleased with this design. I have had a tight fist on some of the gemstone beads that went into this one. (Don't know I hang on to things as I do, but we all have our issues, right?) The picture is kind of sad, due to my lightening conditions today. The colors are spectacular though and I really like the focal too.

I dunno. . .I guess I have a Pompeii hang up or something. This focal was inspired by the Pompeii Villa set that I made recently and I wanted to see what I could do with it as a wrapped pendant.

The focal (handmade by me) features a Tibetan Raku Reiki Fire Dragon on one side & a Crone's Hand, w/Eternal Spiral, on the other. Fantastic, nebulous blues & greens flow through the bead, as well as a lovely seashell shade. Lots of fine silver components makes this a wonderful energy piece.

Continuing w/ the conductivity of silver, I have wired the focal w/ 22G Sterling wire, a hammered fine silver Hilltribe link, & sterling Healing Hand charm.

The pendant is strung onto handmade silk ribbon of various dark blues (by KAS Lampwork). I've used several, handmade silver-dipped Greek ceramic beads, along the knotted length, for an ethnic look.

The necklace is completely adjustable, using a Greek silver-dipped large-hole slider bead. Necklace can be adjusted from 16" to 24".
