Strawberry Fields Forever-May 14, 2006
(
Fyrebeadz
)
Sweet sweet summertime and sweet strawberries! My first ones ever! I am pleased with these and they are the result of my neighbor showing me her new plants. I just had to come home and try some. These are the result!
Happy July 4th
(
GeltDesigns
)
Every year the phone would ring. My grandfather would ask "why is the fourth of July?" and then he would laugh and laugh. Years later each of our family members race to the phone to be the first to ask each other our grandfather's favorite terrible joke. We know he will always laugh with us. :)
Santa & Mrs. Claus

'Twas the first full day back from vacation, and all thru the house, not a creature was torching especially not me. The children were busy with school and art, The hubby was already playing in his garage-- the ol' fart. Mommy and the Maytag had just started yet another load of clothes, when out in the studio there arose such a clatter, I just had to open the door to see what was the matter! The light on the forsaken glass gave the table such a glow. . . and that was it, had to torch! Actually, I had to wait until late last night to get my first chance to torch in almost two weeks. The ideas have been dancing in my head, just like the fabled sugar plums. So many ideas, so little time! I thought about this over vacation, and I have to find that balance that allows me to keep up with lampworking and still do all the stay-at-home mommy stuff. Oh, wah, you say-- everybody has the same problem. You're right, too. I know most of us struggle with finding the right balance between family and work. So that's my Christmas wish for you-- that you have one of those months when everything falls together with just the right balance. When you need a little break, come on back here for a visit. I'm going to be doing some more holiday themed beads. I'm just going to pace myself with some holiday beads, some beads for Tucson, some beads for special projects.
Vanlentine Heart

This was an easy set to make, I didn't start out thinking about a valentine theme but after I brought them upstairs and looked at them I thought that they fit well with this time of year. Thank you for looking.
Happy Valentines Day

It's almost Valentines Day! Give her roses.. but not just any roses. Give her a hand crafted pate de verre rose and she will surly be enchanted. Enjoy!
"Sunshine on Cloudy Day. . ."

I can't help it, that song is running through my head as I post these pics. She just looks like she dresses up because she's worth the trouble, like she brings joy to everyone else around her by making each day a special occasion. Of course, she's adding to my inferiority complex right now, since I'm sitting here in my light gray sweatshirt and dark gray sweatpants (see what I mean? I don't even bother to match my sweats!) Hmmmm. Maybe I'll get inspired to dress up before I head to town this morning to get some shipping supplies. Then again, maybe I'll just wear what I've got on, so I can hurry with the shopping trip and get back home to torch a few more fancy ladies?

Inspired by that Venus of Willendorf sculpture...I remember carrying my children.
I used the ivory glass with sifted enamel to remind us of the "glow"...
Peace.
Flameworked Sculptures in Boro
(
Vuju
)
These are some sculptures that I made with boro, for me a totally different experience than working with the soft glass that I normally use. All of the sculptures are studies, I just gave it a go in the flame and played with the figure.
Sweet Treat Beads
(

I really enjoy sculptural beads. I have made many strawberries by request. They don't seem to ever get old to make! That's a good thing...I get bored easy! ;)
Happy Holidays
(

)
My holiday beads usually tend to be of the sculptural type. The summer has been mild till this last week, but sculpting ghosts, pumpkins and flowers, keeps me smiling, even though the heat is starting to get to me.
Mrs. PumpkinHead the Earring Holder
(
Angelinabeadalina
)
Mrs. PumpkinHead is sweet lady who would like to hold your earrings for you! Bless her kind heart, she isn't laughing at the earrings I made to go in the picture. Right now, even as I type, she's reassuring them that they may be teeny little barely-pumpkins but they will be fun for someone's trick or treat bag. . .You see, Mrs. PumpkinHead knows that her ears are not quite level, so she has compassion for the decidely novice earrings ;) Of course, any earrings you hang from her ears are going to look even cuter displayed this way for a touch of Halloween fun. The Mrs. is quite ready for Trick or Treat and harvest fun. She has been dreaming of caramel apples by night and talking to the crows stealing corn from the field by day. Look for her in AngelinaBeadalina's Etsy shop.
Fall- Winter colors

I live in the island of Puerto Rico and we have no seasonal changes...I usually travel this time to enjoy them abroad.I couldn't this year... so here they are in my beads!
~*Majutsu*~
(

The 2nd and last Halloween witch geisha for 2007. I didn't want them to look too similar so while I used the same colors and theme, I made Majutsu holding her cauldron at the end of an Argentium staff. I also gave her a slightly different hairstyle and added 2 tendrils of hair flowing from either side.

The myrrh magi. Myrrh is an ingredient of perfumes and incense, was highly prized in ancient times, and was often worth more than its weight in gold(wikipedia). I chose to show it as a liquid in an ornamental bottle on this geisha.
Big Sur

I couldn't resist my latest lampwork purchase--some exquisite lampwork sets by Dawn Scannell. They combined her exceptional raku skills with my beloved seashells. Here is my first "baby" to come from the treasures I had to have to play with! The beads were encased in clear to give them even more depth and beauty. I wish my photography could even do them half justice. You just have to hold these beads in your hands to appreciate their true worth!
