Frogs on 'Pleated' Bases
(
MaryCLockwood
)
Been working on the 'pleated' effect using encased twisties as bases for my frogs. These are the first two and I can't wait to see all the fun colors that come next. Thanks for looking.
Crystals
(
TheGlassTurtle
)
One of my absolute fave shapes to make. I like to keep it simple with the clear encasing to bring out the colors of the frit blends beneath. I always try to mix up the coordinating beads as the encased crystals stay the same :)
Monet Beads
(
Lorigreenberg
)
These beads are all created with custom blends of enamels, layers of frit and clear encasing for added depth. I've been told that they remind people of their travels and that I've 'captured' Monet.

these are some of the beads i've made in october which is the 4th month i've been lampworking, i think i'm getting better and i'm still loving playing with glass
Complex Encased Floral Focal Beads
(
MaryCLockwood
)
From day 1 of my torching life my focus was always on how much depth I could impart into my beads. No other style of beads allows me to explore that more than encased florals and seascapes. This is a sampling of my florals.
My First Glass Ring
(
FireandIce
)
These are some pics of the first (but not the last) glass ring I've made. I used a light pink base and added shimmering yellow and blue sparkling frit for fun. It's about a 7.5 in size (it fits on my freakishly thin thumbs) and I have flattened the sides to fit more comfortably on the finger, while counter-weighting the bottom so it won't spin around the finger. Can you tell I work in a jewellery store?
HOG - Encased Floral Beads - Jan - MidFeb 2007
(
HeartsOfGlass
)
These are my early '07 beads, in chronological order. I have been experimenting with new steps and techniques, and have started doing more double-flower designs. This gallery got full faster than I'd thought, so I've decided to make a new floral gallery every few weeks. Stay tuned!!! :)
HOG - Encased Floral Beads 2006
(
HeartsOfGlass
)
I started keeping decent photographic records of my favorite beads in early 2006, which corresponded with a big leap in my floral-making skill. In my earlier reds, you can see how I struggled against the tendancy for the petals to go translucent, and how I finally figured out how to layer for better opacity and brightness. I also developed a better sense of the ideal proportions of base opaque petal dot and transparent top dot for better crispness.

Sea Glass

I love being around water..sea/lakes,... Glass is the perfect media for capturing that transparency and colors. I love making aquarium & fish beads. Enjoy!
~Terra Tory!
(
Fyrebeadz
)
An out of this world, magical focal bead with earthy abstract composition. I used that wonderful new glass Terra for a good part of this bead. Part of it is encased in clear, part of it is left with silver leaf on the top. Surface decoration is a raku vine that swirls and dances around the circumference of this beautiful focal. I think this is the nicest focal I have ever made. It is big, organic, what more could you ask for? May 1, 2007
