This afternoon the Dao closed up 100 points...oh, wait, this isn't that Dow. These beadalinas are inspired by Dao (aka Tao), the Asian concept of "the way". Practically everyone has seen the yin yang symbol and has a loose idea that it's somehow related to religion. Yin and yang stand for opposite and conflicting forces of the universe, and the way they fit snugly into each other represents the way these universal forces interact. Some pictures of the symbol also include a border made of a series of lines and broken lines. These line groups stand for Lake, Earth, Fire, Heaven, Mountain, Thunder, Water, and Wind. Well, this week I seemed to need some energy, bright and positive and invigorating, so I made Fire/Energy beads. My beads are fairly big and eat up a lot of glass, so I'm always filling up the fat inside with colors I already have alot of .
