Desert Traveler-- The Beginning

Just a quick shot to let you know I really am still around and had a terrific time getting to torch during the day while the kids were at school last Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I was ready for some glass time, and soft glass was calling my name. This Desert Traveler told me that much of her name, but she's waiting for me to do more to her before she reveals her story, I can tell. That's been another difference between boro and soft glass, as far as I can see for me-- soft glass tells me a story, but boro replaces that soulful part of torching with a different, more crystalline look. Sometimes that is good, sometimes that is not good enough, ya know?

Moriage Dragon

This bead is hand decorated in a manner similar to the antique Moriage Dragon Ware that was made in the early 20th century in Japan. It features an airbrushed background with a slip trailed dragon created with colored porcelains on a cast porcelain bead.

An old favorite... LOVE

I thought I'd get tired of making hearts... I've made so many. I couldn't even begin to count... but when I sit down to torch, they happen and I truly enjoy each and every one. I guess there can never be too much love in this world, so I'll keep at it.

Custom family bead August 2008

On one side of the bead; a family of four. Mom, Dad, Son, and sister. The other side of the bead is the sister that grew up and had a daughter. Just the Mom and daughter are celebrating life together (the Dad is not around.) The two live happily ever after; strong; a proud relationship. 8/2008
