Lazy Daze
August is the month of vacations, lots of sunshine and warm days. Sometimes I'd like to be my cat when it curls up on the chaise lounge to just soak in the warm sunshine and drift away the day. This bracelet with it's sorbet colors and sunny disposition sets me thinking about the the pleasures of a lazy day when you empty your mind of all your cares and get that lazy daze void of everything but the beauty around you.

Pendants and Worry Stones
All hail Jo Hoffacker, who taught me how to make holes in glass. Okay, I know popular pendants are round, but I *like* making things that are longer and more tactile. Smooth, cool glass has such potential to fit just so in one's fingers ...

On a Hot Head, October 2006-March 2007
My sets from last October 2006 (2 months' experience) through March 2007. I was torching in my garage, and so it was me, the roar of the exhaust fan, the Hot Head, the wasps, and the ants. Hey, at least it wasn't the garage in a Georgia summer, especially a dry one like we've had!

Margrave the Ghastly
Sculptural hanging bat focal bead. Margrave is rather large in size at 2.25 inches top to bottom. He's hanging from a wine red barrel bead with a 1/8" diameter stringing hole.

Edges
I just think these are soo cool, eek. They're done in a kinda 'Burnt Edges' style and all the variations just add to the depth in each one of them. :)

Bodhi, A Tree of Life Totem
PHOTOS ADDED 08/03/07 Now on Ebay. :) The Bodhi Tree is an old, gnarly, knobby fig tree under which Buddha sat and contemplated his existence. After some time, Buddha gained enlightenment and the Bodhi tree became a symbol of knowledge and wisdom. Trees have often symbolized wisdom through the ages - because of their longevity and contributions to all life.

Pink Lotus
The lampwork beads in this piece are by Polychrome Beads, I will shamelessly say that I am a HUGE fan of Aimee's Lotus beads and I had this set for a LONG time before it finally decided what it wanted to be.

Root of It All (aka pile of glass poo?)
OK, so ya know I like to show ya my glass thoughts in progress, even when I'm not sure if there'll be an afterthought that finishes the beginning thought. Well, this one is truly a beginning thought that I'm not sure about...in fact, it risks being called a pile of poo (albeit glass poo). In fact, if you look, you'll see that I didn't even want to take a picture of this poor thing without adding an interesting background to jazz it up. Still, there's something about this pile of poo's form and color that makes me think I'll try it again and see where it goes. Yep, I'm going to literally get to the root of making a sculptural tree that has gorgeously twisted and spiraled roots sinking into the earth, roots that anchor the tree to Mother Nature for nourishment and stability. . .how's that for form and function being beautiful?

Dichotomy
There are times when you just don't know what to feel - happy/sad, uptight/relaxed, angry/at ease, so maybe you feel a little of each.

Focals 2
New gallery of Focals. I am going in a new direction. I love to play with the glass and see what happens. Sometimes I have no idea what went into a bead. If you like what you see I can be found on Justbeads.com under the name DianaDesigns as well as on Etsy.com under the same user name. Thanks for looking! Enjoy! Diana
