Beads of Courage space bead

This is my submission to Beads of Courage Beads in Space charity contest. One of these was chosen to ride in the space shuttle Endeavor in it's final mission before it is decomissioned. This is an honor and a source of major excitement for me~!

2nd Geisha

New Style of Geisha 2011

Something a bit different. I was working in the studio a couple nights ago and I was loving the colors so much that I wanted more of her kimono to show. I decided to gamble and give it a squish. I also didn't want her sleeves covering up the design so have shrunk those down a bit. I liked it! Plus the flattened bottom will help keep her from flipping over when worn as a pendant.

Beaded purse

This is a small purse I made as a present for a friend. It is knitted with black cotton and about 7,000 purple beads. The inside is lined with an antique piece of kimono silk.
