The Sound of Music Ringing in My Ears
The hills were alive with the sound of music as I was torching this dress. For some reason, the swirling turquoise made me think of Maria singing on the hillside in "The Sound of Music". Long ago, I spent one summer babysitting two of my youngest cousins. I'd work at Kentucky Fried Chicken for the evening shift, bring leftover chicken to share with Uncle Ralph and Aunt Carol, chat over that chicken, then go to bed...only to be awakened very, very early next morning by the sound of "The Sound of Music". Very early, Bobby! Way too early in the morning to listen to Julie Andrew's chipperness every single morning! Ah, I digress...the bead sculpture is named Joy-Maria, for all the joy bursting from Maria's voice as she swirled across the hillside.

Dotted Creature
Large Freeform focal bead (30 mm) in earthtones. It is made of Moretti clear, medium amber, black, light ivory, a brown I don't know the name of and dense black. Reminds me of a profile picture of a baby owl. (available on my homepage) Thanks for looking Kreszentia

flying pig creations
Several years ago one friend, Karen Kress, introduced me to beading and another friend, Ceil Zappa, a lampwork artist, introduced me to flameworking. They catalyzed a latent but inherited love of design, color and art which has emerged as Flying Pig Creations (because I doubted it could get off the ground) a design studio whose center is artisan jewelry but often spirals off into other artistic or artisanal endeavors. Here is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the jewelry with a group of inspired artists.

~Serenity Gardens~
I find time spent in a garden is healthy and calming but unfortunately I live in Alaska where the growing season is very short, so instead, I do my gardening in glass work. Like these beads, hand-sculpted my me while the glass is molten and very HOT! Enjoyable you ask? Very much so, these flowers never die, they last forever...

Aqua Azul
2.25" Aqua Azul bead sporting an enchanting frog with striped rear legs. Displayed on a bead pen. I had so much fun making him. He came to life with each part added. I really believe he will crawl up the bead.

~Midnight Sonata~
Evocotive scents on a dark moonless night but the garden is full of blue flowers that bloom on and on. I used hand pulled canes I made to create this little work of art. I am loving everything about this bead! March 2007

Over the Rainbow
Here is a rather large set that I finally finished last Friday. I spent four days just pulling the cane using mostly Reichenbach transparent glass. The pillow were made with a complex cane that contained all six colors yet they reacted very differently, they really look much different than the button beads. I was disappointed with the result at first but they have grown on me over the past few days. Thank you for looking Lois March 07
