Like Silk Slipping Smoothly Off Her Shoulder

If you ask her to tell you the story, she'll just whisper lightly, "I'm another year older and a decade bolder." She didn't tell me all of her secrets while I was sculpting her in the flame, and I couldn't hear any confessions being whispered in the kiln while she was annealing. . .you'll have to coax her into revealing what she knows :)

Hiding from the Flames of Memory

I throw my arms over my head, shielding my eyes from the flames of memory licking my feet. For a moment, I indulge in the temporary reprieve, until my mind realizes the deceit and the memories pour in again. It is an indulgence, I know, for this festering pain is something I must let go. I pause. . . . . .and then, I move forward, through the flames and into a burned off land where only the good will be tended and nurtured into vitality.
