A Happy Buddha to Brighten Your Day

Just a happy, content, enlightened Buddha to brighten your day. Making one of these always lifts my mood. I think the smile does it. Then again, it could be the ears which are done larger than normal proportion in order to remind us to listen. . . I always feel as if I could tell my secrets or worries to these sculptures.

Desert Sunset

Traces of silver and ivory swirled in Sunny Mango Coral produce the beautiful veining in these beads and bring out the pinks and oranges of a desert sunset.

Organic soft glass

I love to dabble in soft glass... and these are by far my favorite thing to make. There is a metallic sheen in these that just isn't being captured by my camera.

Walk Within-- the Beginning

"Walk Within," that's what I wrote in stringer on the back of this labyrinth bead. "Walk within" is what I was thinking as I slowly laid down the layers of stringer to make the raised walls of the labyrinth. Another meditation at the torch is what it became, and this one is destined to become my personal reminder of so many things in life. Walk within, and quiet the mind. Walk within, and search for what's really important. Walk within, and in doing so, learn to look outside and see how my "within" melds with all "without". This one is a beginning, a beginning for me, and a beginning for the beads. I know when I hold this one that I have to try it again, there's more the glass has to say.

Sweet cream and caramel describe this bracelet perfectly. Beautiful lampwork by Tiffany McCoy and Elaine Zahran combine for a perfect dessert for the wrist.

Mr. Higbee

Could he possibly be related to Jughead? A lot of detail in these faces, I try to really capture as much expression as possible!

Nanny Nanny Boo Boo

Nanny is a little ol lady with silvering hair - age spots too dark to cover any more and that rippling chin, or should I say 'chins'

FiGalina #3: Cleopatra with Scarab Headdress

She stands, rising to meet Gaius Julius Caesar, rising to greet Marc Antony, rising to exalt Isis, rising to grapple with Fate. . . always rising, always regal, always Cleopatra the Queen. This is the third Cleopatra in the FiGalina collaboration series. For this one, FiG (Michael Mangiafico of FiG Studios) made the Cleopatra head and the dichro scarab headdress, while I made the upper and lower torsos. I love her attitude. She is for sale in my Etsy shop (check www.angelinabeadalina.com for a link).

If You Can't Play...Don't Prowl

Tiger beads and florals are a favorite combination of mine. This charm bracelet features both in lampwork by Jena Fulcher and more subdued fall colors emphasizing the browns and ambers with pearls and Czech glass leaves, sterling silver and of course beautifully executed lampwork.
