Searched the I Ching for some more hexagrams that just felt right for now. Of course, I always want to do #11, Earth over Heaven, yin over yang, perfect balance-- PEACE. Then, I had to choose a new number, something for strength. Turns out, #34, the Power of the Great, was just what I was looking for this time. The Power of the Great is also known as simply "strength," but I liked the definition I found that explains why. Thunder over Heaven shows the thunderclouds ascending and gathering strength. The narrative I found talks about not misusing strength, but getting what you need without causing any harm-- now that is true power, and so I chose to write POWER on the back of the second #34 I torched. When I was doing the first one, I quit writing "strength" because it didn't feel quite right. . . twisted it, and it turned out to evoke thoughts of smoky dragons or even a phoenix rising from flames.
