Lumpies!
I call these beads 'Lumpies' with great affection. These beads have a wonderful tactile-ness from the soft, bright 'lumps' on the face of the bead. When worn as a pendant, you won'tbe able to keep your hands off them!

Dancing Starfish
This is one of my favorite signature beads - the Dancing Starfish! I love my little starfishes....and I hope that you enjoy them too! They cane be quiet satrfishes, or sassy starfishes, but the one quality they have in common? They all love to get down and boogy on the dance floor!

My First Glass Ring
These are some pics of the first (but not the last) glass ring I've made. I used a light pink base and added shimmering yellow and blue sparkling frit for fun. It's about a 7.5 in size (it fits on my freakishly thin thumbs) and I have flattened the sides to fit more comfortably on the finger, while counter-weighting the bottom so it won't spin around the finger. Can you tell I work in a jewellery store?

Dragons
It has taken me quite awhile to where I feel good about my dragon beads....my first was such a sad, creepy sight!

Thinking within, Alone
This sculpture was first made with clay way back whenever. When I tried to make it with glass I realized that I could sculpt glass like clay. So, that is what I enjoy doing. My hope is that I can get my glass skills up and get better at this. Even if I have studied sculpture for many years...I still have a lot to learn. This is Ivory and Silver. (These were sold on Ebay; they live in California now.)

Designs from 2007
As I look through my work from 2007 I wonder if I will ever have a certain "look" to my work. So many artists focus on one certain style and I guess I just have too much to learn and too much to keep trying to ever create a "style" that will be my own. Most of my customers like that they never know what to expect from me.. I guess that is what matters.. "what I like to do...and what my customers want..right?

Sgraffito
First I painted the clay with alcohol inks. Once dry, I used a straight edge and a needle tool to etch lines. Updated 3-19-07

I am absolutely hooked on melting glass...I love the process and the result. For me, the art of working with glass provides endless possibility and creativity. Each of my pieces are individually crafted, each is absolutely unique and no two are ever identical. I produce handmade lampwork beads and handcrafted jewellery as well as kiln formed, fused art glass. I work were I live; by the sea on Vancouver Island, BC. Boro Color Reference
I am currently working on testbeads and will post the results here. This might come in handy for the people who are new to borosilicate. These beads where all annealed for 20 minutes at 1150 and 30 minutes at 1050. For the reds and purples I'd recomand a lower annealingtemp though, this particular schedule made them really dark, and it brought out the blues and greens in tripple passion and purple luster. I'll be doing these in every color I have, so keep an eye out for new pictures! Suzanne

Lily Bead
In Japan we usually make bead jewelry with leather code. So our tonbodama usually has a hole from side to side. But in Western world you make jewelry of bead with hole from top to bottom. I think it must be good for pendant. Then I try one. And my American friend suggested that white flower on purple must be beautiful. How do you think of it?
