There truly are four tails in the household--the three cats and my rescue whatsit, Mr. Justin Renate McCavity Wigglebutt, Esq. The cats --- usually --- don't stick their tails in the torch. Generally, though, the four of them are my Quality control Inspectors.

Recently I have gotten into making fan pulls--small cabinet-knobs that attach to a finial conversion chain. They're very sturdy--you can tug on those and the bead won't come loose--it is screwed in tightly. Then of course there are frit test beads. Make two of them, and turn them into earrings!

Making butterflies is such a sad thing; each one is a child lost. My butterflies aren't very good yet, but maybe they will help someone remember a child with joy as well as sorrow.

Purple hearts are so much happier--a celebration of a struggle fought and won, a marker of the triumph of hope.
