Good Tidings

There is something quite beautiful to me when I listen to the Christmas story, and that is the moment when the angel appears to the shepherds and says, "Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy." Those words never fail to call to my mind an image of a glorious angel descending upon shepherds. The shepherds must have been in awe, but I can feel the compassion of the angel in those words. I am certain the angel enveloped those shepherds in a glow of peaceful goodness.
