As a self-representing glass artist. I incorporate a little piece of my spirit into each bead as it is made. For me, lampworking is a creative outlet, a meditation, a way of touching the Universe as I work. My beads are all handmade from "soft" glass, usually Effetre/Vetrofond/Lauscha from Italy and Germany, but occasionally Bullseye from the USA. I use a Bethlehem Piranha torch, individually shaping and decorating each bead. All my beads are kiln-annealed for strength and safety and carefully cleaned afterwards. Effetre/Vetrofond bead sets, 2006. I enjoy doing simple sets because of the meditative, Zen-like process of their creation. All I have to do for them is let the glass flow and be itself, watch the colors interact, as I gently guide it along.

I am a beadmaker, bookbinder, and textile artist living in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Art is my primary avocation, but teaching computer science at a community college pays the bills.
My free time is spent with my major passions, the Three Gs: Glass, Good Mews Animal Foundation (no-cage, no-kill cat shelter where I volunteer), and most important, Gary (my husband).
