Found some copper leaf and wanted to see what, if anything, it did with turquoise Moretti....

Ivory Effetre glass is wrapped with fine blue silver foil, sprinkled with one of my favorite frits, and shaped into a hanging vertical oval tab bead. A small piece of fine silver mesh was added to one side, and the bead acid-etched for a velvety surface.
This focal was wound on a 1/8” mandrel, and is 34mm long, 25mm wide, and 9mm thick.

A bold focal of simple black Effetre glass combined with a shard from my friend Janet from Janetsglass (www.Janetsglass.Etsy.com), a sprinkling of frit, fine silver mesh, and a twisted raised clear dot create a stunning, cosmic look that you can stare at for hours…
This focal was wound on a 1/8” mandrel, and is 37mm long, 28mm wide, and 13mm thick

This was such a PITA!!! My bead release had the gall to break free on the mandrel while I was making the bead, so the bead was spinning around on it's own while I was trying to rotate it in the flame to shape and create it. GRRRR!!!

My second shard bead gone way awry. I used a base of Copper Green with more of Janetsglass (Etsy) lovely Coppered Ivory shards, then decided to etch the bead very lightly.
Then my pager went off.
After getting off of the phone with the hospital I had forgotten about the darn bead!! Well... 40 minutes later I see the mandrel sticking out of the acid-etch and thought...
Well - you can guess what I thought.

After finding a perfect pearl gray, I thought that I might just add a fresh water pearl to a hand-shaped rough rectangle pendant...

This was actually my first tube bead - about three inches long. The base is made out of a random rod of Odd Lot Vetrofond (I just grabbed one), but I love the colour!!

I was playing with Tongue Pink, and started to notice that it looked a bit like the tile in my living room.... so I played...

Limited Edition Vetrofond base wrapped in sterling leaf with added frit...
This was the second "Oh heck the bead release broke" bead - the darn thing kept moving freely while I was trying to shape it... from halfway through the base, and I didn't want to waste the glass!! Grr....

Mica is covered with a light gold metallic sheen, yet she wasn't fumed. Haven't tried that...yet...
As well as a gold sheen, there's also a little silver-grey, and some sterling mesh which had a nice pitting effect with the base glass.

My fourth tube bead, this is two and a half inches of limited edition Bullseye glass - the rod was pretty mundane looking but when I heated it up I discovered the most gorgeous meadow-toned striations!!!

I've never used shards before, and on a wild hair I decided to try it... I saw some great ones on Etsy from Janetsglass and decided "what the hey..."

A new shape for me that seemed to lend itself to the more stone-look glasses. A little shimmer of silver leaf and some frit... with a strange yellow dot... and etched for a more earthy look.

Iron Mountain Jewelry is a one person glass studio in sunny (sweltering) Bulverde, TX, in the hillcountry just north of San Antonio. I'm a self-taught lampworker who works full-time in an Interventional Radiology Lab and only get to play with hot, moulten glass when I've been good. Or when I can run fast enough to get away from my department. I've been playing with glass now for about 20 months, but if you add up the actual time, it's more like 8 or 9. I WANT SOME MORE!!!!!!
