Here you will find some of my most recent work. I do alot of organics and quite a few florals as well. My particular style has been described as being quite "bohemian". I take that as a wonderful compliment. My work is quite unique, definitely free-spirited and non-conformist! Come have a look!

Something new I'm working on called the Storybook series. Little vignettes which capture a small piece of a larger story. This first one is an introduction to Hazel one of the main characters.
"On a beautiful and sunny Fall afternoon, the blustery Wind raced through the branches, carrying with it the brown and golden-yellow leaves as they fell from the trees. From her warm and snug little nest in the old log pile, Hazel watched the leaves as they spiraled and danced with the Wind… She sighed, curled up in a ball, and dreamed that she could fly and dance with them…"

I've been sculpting women for quite a while now, even before I started working with glass. I thought it was time to try sculpting men. Here is where you can follow my progress.

This is the beginning of a new series for me. Depictions of women and maybe even men ;) from different cultures around the world. I think most of these will be done in a relief style, on flattened tabs. I really like the look.

I've got a goddess gallery on the Glass artists site, but I never added one here. You can find my earlier goddess beads in my Focals gallery and my Woman gallery. Since my style is also changing and I have so many now, I thought they needed their own gallery :)

I started out as a set maker, I used to be able to make 20-25 coordinating beads with no problem. Then I started making focals and just couldn't do sets anymore. So now I'm kind of feeling the urge to make sets again so I'm going to try and please both sides by making mini sets :)

Since my style is changing and my other set galleries are full, I'm starting a new one. Here are my latest sets for 2006. I also have a new camera and lighting so the pictures are also improving :)

I wanted to see what I could do with a totem-like theme. These are similar to my masks but will deal with animal inspired themes.

These are also masks but my focus is a bit different. I am going for a more realistic feel to the facial detail. Almost like a 3D portrait. They are not as flamboyantly detailed as my other mask style, the facial expressions and fine detail are meant to do most of the work in these pieces.

I felt like it was time to begin a new focals gallery. As my style changes and evolves into new and different directions, they just don't seem to fit into the old galleries anymore.

I just love masks, they are simply facinating. Mystical, magical and extremely important within the cultures where they are still used. I have several ideas for mask designs and this is where I will post them.

I want to do a series of beads in a very primative style. Shapes and textures which are very organic and resemble old artifacts, fossils, bones, carved stone tools etc. Here is where I will put them.

I've been wanting to do a series of more abstract female figures in celebration of the beauty and diversity of Woman. No, I'm not a feminist, I just find the female form really beautiful :)

*If you happen to be in San Francisco in May 2006, or Santa Cruz in June 2006, you can go and see this goddess bead in person. She will be on exhibit in San Francisco at Public Glass gallery as part of the Good Things/Small Packages exhibition. In June she will move to the Selman Gallery in Santa Cruz. She will be for sale during this time.*

Exploring the joy of fish...Cheryl Madson introduced me to the joys of fish while I was in Washington, she makes gorgeous sculptural beads, including the cutest fish I've seen! These are really fun and relaxing to make and I will be exploring the realm of fish to the fullest.

I seem to use alot of opaque glass. I thought it would be nice to play a bit with straight transparent glass. I find that I really love the look and it is a nice change.

I like to experiment with form and color just like every glass artist does. In this gallery I will show some of those experiments and ideas which have come to life. Some will become new series and I will probably make many of them over the years, others will probably never be seen again..lol!
