I can't believe I don't have a "gallery" just for birds...I make a lot of them.....there is always something magical about a creature with wings....wish I had them!

Hummingbirds

Hummingbirds

I truly love hummingbirds! They are like tiny living jewels that sparkle as they flit from flower to flower.

Owls!

Owls!

I think owls are some of my favorite birds. I once rescued one that had been hit by a car...I thought I was helping a cat, imagine my surprise when I got closer and saw a great horned owl in the road before me. It didn't appear to be alive, yet I couldn't just leave it in the road. As I scooped it up, it's eyes opened and boy, it looked surprised to see me! Although I was not wearing any protective gloves (which isn't to be done when handling owls!), this owl was so gentle. It softly grasped my fingers with it's talons and pushed off and flew away. I watched breathlessly, and when I looked at my fingers I saw the faintest of scratches. I could have been really ripped to shreds, but I was not.

Parrots

Parrots

I can't believe I haven't made parrots before this. I've tried so many other kinds of birds. This is my first try, but I'll be making more to add.

Ravens and Crows

Ravens and Crows

They may not be the most musical of birds nor the most colorful but they have a certain mystique about them. I raised a baby crow that had fallen out of a nest. He was the most intelligent bird and visited me occasionally after I had released him.
