This neolithic-style bead is a part of my Petroglyph series. One side features a Star Man, one of the many ancient visitors from "the sky" that was purported to have crash-landed and taught mankind about fire, food and the solar systems of the Universe. The other side of the bead is decorated with an ancient serpent icon, as well as Healing Hand and a partial star map.

The focal (handmade by me) features a Tibetan Raku Reiki Fire Dragon on one side & a Crone's Hand, w/Eternal Spiral, on the other. Fantastic, nebulous blues & greens flow through the bead, as well as a lovely seashell shade. Lots of fine silver components makes this a wonderful energy piece.
Continuing w/ the conductivity of silver, I have wired the focal w/ 22G Sterling wire, a hammered fine silver Hilltribe link, & sterling Healing Hand charm.
The pendant is strung onto handmade silk ribbon of various dark blues (by KAS Lampwork). I've used several, handmade silver-dipped Greek ceramic beads, along the knotted length, for an ethnic look.
The necklace is completely adjustable, using a Greek silver-dipped large-hole slider bead. Necklace can be adjusted from 16" to 24".

I have always admired the work of Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. His incredible ocean scenes, the way he expressed the power of waves...all brilliant and so precise. This particular piece formed of its own will...creating a Hokusai-like wave and wonderful visual texture. The Toasty Brown background offsets the varying grays and hints of blue in the wave. Darker Kyanite chips, silver and Black Onyx would go very well with this focal.

dZi (pronounced Zee) beads, true ones, are agate stones found in the Himalayan regions. They are carved into shape, usually a barrel, and worn as amulets of protection that attract protector deities. I have always been fascinated with dZi beads and here is my version in glass.

Got Snail?
A few months ago, most of us Glass Artists were waiting for a glass shipment to come in from Italy - it had brand new colors for all of us to play with...and we waited...and we waited... then the WEIRDEST thing ever happened! The container carrying the glass from Italy was infested with snails on the outside. The container went into quarantine and we all stomped and bit our fingernails until Mike Frantz told us the glass was finally free.
So imagine my surprise when I should open the kiln and see two eyes on stalks staring back at me... Isn't he cute???
Though the snails met their demise, one saw fit to hop into my bead and make a home. :) It makes sense that the Snail represents perseverance and determination! heehee

Shape-shifting...Illusion..... Law...
I've always seen Crows, Ravens or any birds from the Corvid family as good omens, even though I know some cultures see them as bad signs. I was delighted to find this beauty in my kiln. In the first photo, I see a raven/crow caught in flight, right at the moment it would descend and land upon a tree branch. In the third photo, I see the graceful body tipped forward to peck something from the ground...

An exploration in simple, elegant designs, using transparent glass, with or without silver. The focals are "carved" with a Stump Shaper and the back of each focal is flat so it lays nicely against the skin, in either pendant or bracelet form. A bonus accent bead is included with each focal. Reiki (or Hands On Healing) uses symbols and energy to promote health in the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical aspects. It treats the whole person by exchanging negative energies for new, positive ones. For the last half of 2007, I concentrated on one aspect of this form of health care - the Healing Hand. Now I am ready to incorporate the symbols of Reiki into my Petroglyph and Healing Hand focals - creating a new series of beads for Palm Masters and those who believe in the healing touch of a hand.

Epoxy a bail to it and Instant Pendant!
Seed Bead around the cab!
Create a bezel out of silver or gold!
Wire-wrap it!
Carry it as a pocket/worry stone!

A new technique for me, though it's been around for quite some time. The designs are "painted" onto the glass then the bead is fired to 1111 degrees. The silver adheres to the glass and voilà - a whole new dimension to the bead! :)

Talk about a surprise! I was amazed when I saw the little "window frame" in the middle of the trunk of this bead... Do Fairies live here? Wee folk perhaps? I think this Tree is speaking of the need to always remain playful and mysterious, to imagine, to dream, to wish...
This is a truly magical, one of a kind piece that I can never recreate so bid now on eBay if you want it! :)

Here is the fourth installment of my Goddess play at the torch. This is Diana, Goddess of the Hunt and the Moon. She was touted with having simple grace. She is what I consider the quintessential view of "woman" - mysterious, resourceful and intelligent.
Diana has just one breast so perhaps this might be a lovely gift for a strong woman you know who has gone through a mastectomy. She is also flat on the back side (with an impressed Infinity symbol) so she'll lay nicely against the skin.

This Tree stands in the parched desert with it's hot days and cold nights. It's daytime friends are the lizards, snakes, bugs and the occasional bird that flies by and lands for a rest. At night, the sky, the stars and the Moon befriend it and take it places it never imagined possible even though it is firmly rooted in place...Might seem too solitary an existence for some, but the Living Tree never feels lonely because it always has the Earth...the faithful, loving Earth, hugging it's roots and giving it the gift of life every day.
Not alone. Not afraid. Not unhappy.

This is the largest order I have ever done. 54 spacers and 36 tabs to go with them. Though I nearly lost the will to live after making so many spacers ~wink~, I had a blast doing this order because I love the simple colors and the velvety smoothness of the etch.

I love your work. Unfortunatley for me when I revamped my gallery I lost your comments but I just wanted you to know that your pieces get my attention next. I cannot wait to work some great wire magic around your bead designs. They are always so peaceful to the touch and I they bring me much serenity even being around them. I know I'll have to keep one creation of your work for myself to wear. I'll have to wait and decide which one does not want to be parted with.............lol.
