This bead sculpture is composed of seven handmade lampworked beads which have been arranged to create a tableau of maidens basking in rays of moonlight they've captured with their altar to the moon. Who can really know what the thoughts were of the people who created ancient rituals? To me, it's fascinating to take what I've read in different books and online and then imagine for myself how these things begin. . . and that's where these maidens come into the story. This is my imagination in glass, a little Angelinabeadalina tableau.

Moon Glow
The shadows played as the leaves of the trees glimmering in the moonlight, and the maidens made wishes.

They whispered gently to each other as they basked in the moonlight, reverance for the glory of nature hushing them with awe.

Moon Glow
By the next full moon, they had thought about this energy they felt in the moonlight.

Moon Glow
They made an altar, a basin really, and they set it high to catch the rays of moonlight.

As those rays funneled through the basin, the maidens lifted their hands and faces toward the shower of moonlight.

Moon Glow in the Moonlight
This is Moon Glow resting in the moonlight. . . I hope you can see the silhouette and the shadows it cast. I am truly sorry I couldn't capture it just the way it looked: the just less than full moon glowing in the eastern sky, trees framing it.

Angelinabeadalina
Thanks for stopping by to visit with AngelinaBeadalina! I'm really just plain ol' Angie or Ang, but the catchy name does suit me in the sense that I'm a motormouth who loves to play with words almost as much as I love to play with glass! You can find me here at BeadArtists.org, in my Etsy shop, or in my daily blog. You can get links to those places at www.angelinabeadalina.com (click on it above). Please pardon the use of my "official" website as a traffic control signal at the moment-- at least, that's what it makes me think of when I look at it. . . lots of directions to other places where there are updates on a daily basis. Tech-stuff would not be one of those things that I love or that comes naturally to me ;) Well, enough rambling for now, come on in, look around. . . have fun exploring my glass experiments and ideas. Peace, Ang
