Froggie Fun

Froggie Fun

Like my fish, I never thought I'd be making little glass frogs, but I got a couple of requests for them during an art fair I did earlier this summer.

Well, I gave making frogs a try and was surprised that it was a bit easier than I thought. When I took them to work, the women there just went nuts.

So, here's my collection of frogs that I've made recently.

Some are available for sale at my Etsy shop at http://BurningScentsations....

Sangria Sunset

Sangria Sunset

I've recently begun making hollow beads and experimenting more with asymetrical designs. This set of beads is one of my first hollow sets, and I just love the bright colors.

Hollows allow me to make the chunkier beads that I like, while still keeping the weight of the piece down a bit.

The disk spacers are also something new and I love how they reflect the light around the piece.

This colors in this set were designed to have wine and citrus colors since Sangria was my inspiration. The disk spacers remind me of lime slices added to the rim of the drink.

I hope you enjoy this set as much as I did making it.

Dangerous Toady

Dangerous Toady

This little guy is my most complicated frog yet that I've made and he sold immediately when I took him out at work to show him off.

Sitting on a green cone bead, this little black frog sports bright orange and black toes, orange and yellow warts, and multi-colored eyes, a sleek black body and cute little face.

His bright coloration leads folks to believe he's poisonous, but I'm not quite sure that's true...

Vineyard Necklaces

Vineyard Necklaces

I don't know why grapes are such an appealing theme for me, but they do seem to reccur in my work and imagery that inspires me. Perhaps its the colors, or just a faded memory of some idyllic past life. Whatever the case, I hope you enjoy these necklaces.

Tree And Water Focal

Tree And Water Focal

This focal bead has an organic background of rich tans and blues which appears to be a turbulent ocean or waterfall in the background.

The foreground of this bead features a lone tree growing from the sandy bank.

I love the serenity of this particular bead, and I hope you will too.

Stately Tree Necklaces

Stately Tree Necklaces

I made my first tree in soft glass within 6 months of working in glass. It was a simple design and cracked before I could finish it.

Nearly three years later, I revisted this theme and the following necklaces are the fruits of my labor...

Something Wild

Something Wild

Looking for a little adventure? Then this is the place.

I love the exotic look of animal print beads and the energy they bring to jewelry designs.

Welcome to my own private safari!

Aquarium Histerium

Aquarium Histerium

I got the idea to create these little guys while at an Outback Steakhouse with friends (go figure!).

At any rate, the next day I started working my fish much smaller and created these fun little earrings. When I showed the first few pairs around, they were very popular.

Images in these galleries are just samplings of the various designs I've come up with so far, not all of the fish I have made. That would be way too many.

All are set with sterling lever back findings and wire with either sterling or natural stone accents.
