Hate to use this page as a forum, but since SOMEONE took advantage of the fact that I removed ALL the jewelry I made with her DEFECTIVE beads to post beads she made called "Dragon Eggs" - which just happens to be the name of my jewelry series, which just happens to focus around the baby dragons my 16 year old daughter makes out of PMC/art clay silver, I guess I have to say something.

I don't like unoriginal people. I like antagonistic people even less. The necklace used as the snappie for this gallery no longer exists - I had to dismantle it because the SILVER was popping out of the BEADS. Like it did out of every other silvered bead I GOT from said seller. Caveat Emptor.

14K Triple Play

14K Triple Play

These beads by By The Sea Glass Art (Alexandra Spinglaschell) just blew me away when I saw them... but how to use them together without the piece being overly pretentious? AHA! Make TWO pieces that work together! The necklace contains five lampwork beads with 46 14K yellow gold beads in 1.6mm and 3mm and natural jasper beads in 4mm, 6mm and 8mm as well as 4mm natural garnet beads. The links are crafted of 14K yellow gold 24 gauge wire. The clasp is crafted of twisted 14K yellow gold 24 gauge wire.

The pendant is crafted of solid 14K yellow gold wire with two 14K yellow gold 3mm beads and two 4mm green agate beads. It features a removable 14K pink gold S hook connector with which it can be attached to the pendant loop at the bottom of the necklace, hung from a chain or fixed to a ribbon necklace or pearl strand. The S hook features one 14K yellow gold 2mm bead as an accent.

The necklace is 20" long including the hand-crafted clasp, the small pendant drop adds 1", the large pendant adds an additional 2". This piece is a real knockout!

A Lot of HOT AIR - redux

A Lot of HOT AIR - redux

I decided to delete my previous page for this piece since it's now done and I really wanted to give props to Ashton Jewels for the Terraflora bead set and focal that I used to make this necklace.

The shape of the focal bead gave me the idea for the hot air balloon, I just continued the theme on up the links. I used 18K yellow gold wire, yellow and white gold beads, yellow jade, green agate, peach agate, fancy color jasper, rhodonite, fluorite and garnets as well as 20K textured beads.

Thanks again, Lydia!

Baby's Eyes

Baby's Eyes

I made this necklace especially for my 16 year old daughter Caitlin because the colors of the swirls on the beads match her green-hazel eyes to perfection. The creamy warm color of the beads matches the lovely golden tone of her skin and it's as if Alexandra Spinglaschell (alexandra95062.com) was envisioning my baby's eyes when she brought these beads to life with her torch.

This piece is crafted of sterling silver wire with .999 fine Thai silver Karen Hill Tribe beads and fancy natural jasper beads in complementary colors and is one of the most personal and satisfying creations on which I have had the privilege of working. I love to make beautiful things, but making beautiful things for the most beautiful things I ever have and ever WILL create is the ultimate joy! (Love you, Goober! Enjoy it! And thanks Alex, for leaving us gobsmacked once again!)

Blackhearted Wench

Blackhearted Wench

I decided to do something a little different with this piece and concentrate on the lampwork beads rather than the accent beads. All the lampwork beads are by 3 Muses Glass, all the sterling silver beads except the starlights are from Side Street Beads in Watkinsville, GA. I have accented the gunmetal hearts and wildly colored swirled beads with natural garnet, rhodonite, hematite and Swarovski® crystal bicones in Crystal, Rose. I have also used handmade sterling beads in triangular and oblong shapes as well as 2mm round polished beads.

My daughter was talking to me about the latest "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie just as the end theme of "Live and Let Die" came on the TV so I had Bond girls and pirate wenches on the brain when I made this one! This piece measures just over 17" long.

Emiko's Kyoto Spring

Emiko's Kyoto Spring

I made this necklace, with lampwork beads by GlassValley, especially to go with my wonderful, beautiful Emiko focal pendant by Tracy Jerrell Akhtar. I already had the beads and realized when I received Emiko that they were a spectacular match for her!

I used .999 fine silver with fine Thai silver Karen Hill Tribe beads including fine silver vermeil beads, blue agate, green agate, fancy jasper, rhodonite and purple and green fluorite. I used an S hook to attach the pendant so I could move it to a standard chain or attach a different pendant or wear the necklace alone.

I'm always especially excited about pieces that work this well together, I'm just delighted with the way everything works together!

Hazy Shade of Winter

Hazy Shade of Winter

This is another commissioned piece done for Theresa Bishop of Lawson's Fork Glass Beads using a set of her amazing stained glass beads. The heart has been encased in clear, the periwinkle blue of these beads is just astounding, they really seem to glow from the inside out.

The periwinkle reminds me of a winter sky at twilight, the white howlite beads dance around them like snowballs, the garnets bring to mind the blood red of holly berries, the sodalite (both traditional blue and white and the more intense deep blue) evoke thoughts of a winter night and the rosy pink of the rhodonite remind me of the variegated pink poinsettias that my Grandma used to have every Christmas. I used diamond cut sterling beads because they reminded me of the sparkly, metallic Christmas tree ornaments!

I've got my Eye on You

I can't believe it took me this long to create a page for my necklaces, but then again I've kind of redone them all and they're a v2.0 now so I'd have to upload all new pics anyway... I guess it worked out perfectly!

Mazel Tov!

Mazel Tov!

I made this piece for my best friend Liv's birthday :) Definitely Dragon Eggs, spent forever figuring out HOW to make it because it had to be perfect. The bracelet is also hers, the pendant on the suede lanyard is for her husband Michael, because the two of them are a perfect match and I wubs them both!

Pink Lotus

Pink Lotus

The lampwork beads in this piece are by Polychrome Beads, I will shamelessly say that I am a HUGE fan of Aimee's Lotus beads and I had this set for a LONG time before it finally decided what it wanted to be.

Ría Urúva

Ría Urúva

The name of this piece - Ría Urúva - is Elvish for "Garland like Fire". It just seemed to fit wonderfully!

This piece is from my personal Dragon Eggs collection - the beads are by 3 Muses Glass and the necklace links are crafted of 14K yellow, pink and nickel-free palladium-alloyed white gold. I have used 6mm 14K yellow gold beads, 3mm 14K yellow gold beads, 2mm 14K yellow gold beads, 22K vermeil .999 fine silver faceted beads, sterling silver Bali style barrel beads, bead caps, spacers and 8mm round polished beads as accents in combination with 4mm round natural garnets, red agate, yellow jade and rhodonite to complement the colors in the encased Boro beads.

The pendant drop has a loop at the bottom from which I can suspend one of Caitlin's Dragons (the baby dragon pendants my 16 year old daughter makes by HAND from PMC silver!) or a single dragon egg pendant.

I originally did this piece in fine silver but since I found myself wearing it ALL the time I decided to redo it in gold.

Seaside Sunset

Seaside Sunset

This piece is crafted with beads from 3 Muses Glass from sterling silver wire, sterling beads, Swarovski® crystal beads and Miracle beads. The colors in the beads just blew me away, reminding me again of my first trip to the Sandestin Beach Resort in Destin, FL. The first night there was just amazing in so many ways, right down to a complete lunar eclipse! The sunset on the water blazed the most incredible colors and these beads just swept my mind back to that night. Best vacation ever. Come to think of it, it's the ONLY real vacation I've ever taken!

Summer Lotus flower garland necklace

Summer Lotus flower garland necklace

This necklace was an absolute joy to make - the absolutely gorgeous encased lotus flower beads are by Aimee Mann of Polychrome Beads and feature opal yellow petals touched with evil purple for a truly stunning variegated effect! The green and black hand-pulled stringer leaves complete the effect on each bead, giving them a spectacular finish. To truly appreciate these beads you really must see them with backlighting, I'm going to try that tomorrow - the encasing between each layer of petals makes the contrasting colors fairly glow from the inside out!

I have used genuine Swarovski® crystal bicone beads in Erinite, Tourmaline, Daffodil and Padparadscha to complement the colors of the glass and have used Thai Karen Hill Tribe .999 fine silver Starflower bead links to unify the look. The drop pendant features an open heart so that a pendant or charm can be added. The jump rings and clasp are handcrafted.

Tangerine Trees

Tangerine Trees

This piece is one from the line inspired by my teenager and her friends - bright, young, fresh, carefree and beautiful beyond the surface. The beads are by the very talented Kim Hayes of Lani Kai Designs and are absolutely DELICIOUS!

(Yes, it's named after THAT song.)

I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

My jewelry is Bent, Warped & Twisted - just like me ;) My website and forum and online gallery are still sort of under construction but the chat room's open for business, feel free to drop by!

Many of the pieces you see here are available in my Etsy store, if there's a piece you're interested in that isn't in my Etsy store drop me a line and ask about it, I may just not have gotten around to listing it yet! I do try to put "sold" signs on the pieces that are no longer available :)

I LOVE WORKING WITH LAMPWORK BEADS. It's not just a love, it's therapy. Marrying my love of jewelry with the art of lampwork glass and wire work is cathartic, relaxing and compared to a shrink, it's CHEAP! It's also something I can do with ALL of my kids that really makes our family time especially fun, and it fosters the importance of crafting and artistic expression in them in a time when an appreciation for true quality work and attention to details seems to be falling by the wayside. When they see the work that goes into it they have a much deeper appreciation for it!

I wish I could take up the torch myself but I have fibromyalgia and the meds I take for it would make playing with fire not only dangerous but kind of stupidly irresponsible. Besides, someone has to BUY the pretty beads that all you wonderfully talented torchers make!

I try REALLY hard to give props to the glass artists who make the beads that I use in the pieces I make and put in my gallery but if you recognize your beads in my work and for some reason I had oatmeal for brains when I did the writeup and didn't acknowledge you PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I believe in giving credit where it's due and I couldn't make a bead out of Play-Doh and I'm not going to let anyone think I made these beautiful glass jewels that permit ME to put them in pieces of jewelry. I'm very fortunate to have had just the right beads tell me to come and get them, it's a moral imperative that I give their creators the proper respect!
