The Holidays are over and I have been experimenting with new ideas and techniques (other than flowers). I am very excited about what has been turning out in these living pods. Keep looking for more to show up, I might even do a set with this style!

All of my Goddess beads are made in honor of my mother. She is resplendently full bodied and has the most beautiful inner spirit of a flower child.

This is a bead from my Bronwen glass painting class. I traded it with Roccio for some beautiful beads and silver glass. I've been playing with the silver glass and hope to have something interesting to show soon.

These beads feature my interpretation of a rainforest backgraound and are then covered with an orchid plant on the surface.

I sculpted this bead in pale transparent sage green glass then encased pure 24k gold leaf inside so the glass gleams richly from within. The bead was entirely hand sculpted from molten glass and no molds of any kind were used to make this bead. It is currently for sale on ebay and can be purchased at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBay...

I think I was feeling strange while making these. I just kept thinking about the Easter Island Heads and what they would look like with some color.

Enough with traditional Satake beads. I tried to make an oval tab for flowers similar to my other beads. I learned that Satake does not like to be a flatened oval! I loved the look of the encase silver and gold though, so I just kept pulling and messing with the glass until I had this crazy looking thing!

I'm not sure where it came from, but it looks like a living pod sliced open to show what lives within.

Blue and violet orchids with bright yellow throats are blooming on the edge of a misty tropical lagoon. Behind the orchids is an ethereal scene of misty blue water and black vines. A colorful stream of coral shoots through like a streak of sunshine. It is currently for sale on eBay at www.glassjewelsbyjodi.com

Colorful wild flowers dance in the sunshine on the mountain meadows. A crystal clear lake, pine trees and snow-topped mountains can be seen out in the distance. The depth of images in this bead is stunning! I can't wait until summer when we go back to visit the Colorado Rockies again. This bead is currently for sale on eBay at www.glassjewelsbyjodi.com

Here is my first attempt at painting with glass since my class with Bronwen. It is a little nymph sitting under a tulip. I can't wait to do more of these!

They look look little orange aliens growing on the edge of nothing but rocks. But they're just a couple of orchids again!

I have been experimenting with the way silver and heat changes the colors of ordinary Effetre glass and managed to get some really rich purples and blues in this bead. It reminds me of some of the old vessels dug up in the Pompeii area. This bead is for sale on eBay at www.glassjewelsbyjodi.com

ONce I learned the art of pulling my own stringer, I just couldn't stop making flowers. I put them on anything and everything from focals to skulls.

Here is the first bead I made with my new Satake Glass. I thought I would try something traditional first. It is really different to work with, what a learning curve I'm in right now.

I can truelly imagine a shell like this on the sea's floor under Venice. Perhaps it was Tritan's horn...

I can't decide which side of this bead is most beautiful. The side with the flowers or the back with its agate-like colors.
