(Sculptural Glass Beads)

Sculptural Orchid Pendants These center pieces were inspired by an orchid of mine that gave me the grace to actually finally bloom in my kitchen! I stared at it for about an hour trying to figure out the best way to make one out of glass. They have a flattened bead loop hanger so that they rest right when strung and I made them a little thicker than usual so that they weren't quite so fragile. I will keep posting some new pictures when I make more.

I got a gather of Amber purple before I made the petals, which created soft yellow lines in them. This piece was also made with amber purple and extra light yellow.

This is made with Glass Alchemy's perssimon and Northstar Extra Light Yellow. Perssimon strike is a very neat and different color to work with!

I have been working with glass for about a whole year now and have never worked with such a exciting medium. The colors of borosilicate glass and their reactions together continue to fascinate me. I can never have a bad day when I "play" in my studio!

Aside from making pieces out of glass, I also enjoy any other medium in art that I can get my hands on! Both of my parents are lost wax jewelers, and my dad has a lapidary and casting shop on the other side of town. I grew up in CA, with my parents doing art shows, which is where I first saw glass being blown.

For the past year I have been residing in Nevada, but am moving back to California soon! If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me. Also if you would like to purchase any of my work there is a link below to my ebay listings where you may do that!
