Yep, needed another stringer fix, but ya know I can't resist the sculpting. . . so here's what happened when I combined the two to make a scarab. Oh, and Egyptians! Gotta love that theme, too, so this was a triple play day! Let me see if I can remember the details. Hmm, dark brown transparent center encased in clear and then flattened into a thick oval. Dark yellow sun with orange stringer swirl. Raised and sculpted clear scarab body, then lots and lots of dark brown stringer tracing the body and covering the back of the bead. Know what I do remember for certain?? Making this was like meditation for me. Lay down a line. Lay down another line. Feel the heat of the flame (nope, don't even bother to turn down that big flame anymore, just work up close and quickly). Lay down some more lines. Almost get fingers too close to the flame while using the very last of one piece of stringer-- don't let go, or you won't have a continuous line. Ah, I love glass!

Well, that amber scarab was my favorite, and happily it is sold :) These two refused to do just what I wanted, but they do have their neat parts-- and they are for sale for $25 total on my website.

Thanks for stopping by to visit with AngelinaBeadalina! I'm really just plain ol' Angie or Ang, but the catchy name does suit me in the sense that I'm a motormouth who loves to play with words almost as much as I love to play with glass! You can find me here at BeadArtists.org, in my Etsy shop, or in my daily blog. You can get links to those places at www.angelinabeadalina.com (click on it above). Please pardon the use of my "official" website as a traffic control signal at the moment-- at least, that's what it makes me think of when I look at it. . . lots of directions to other places where there are updates on a daily basis. Tech-stuff would not be one of those things that I love or that comes naturally to me ;) Well, enough rambling for now, come on in, look around. . . have fun exploring my glass experiments and ideas. Peace, Ang
