Totems and Sculpture

I've been inspired by the bead "totems" constructed by some talented bead artists, and I've been playing with the idea myself. This one is a work in progress!

I went to Italy in May of this year to take a class with Lucio Bubacco. I've been spending a lot of time working on the techniques that I learned, trying to take them in an abstract direction. This is an entirely new world of glass for me, and I'm loving it!

At this point the trees that I'm making are exercises; a way of practicing technique. I quite like them though...soon I'll have my own glass forest!
