Bourbon is distilled down from a sour smelling mash into that heavenly, fiery liquid. You don't drink a mug of bourbon, you just take a shot. Why? Bourbon is so refined, that's all it takes. It's been boiled down to just the good stuff. That's what I've been wanting to do with my glass lately, boil it down to just the good stuff, make the emotions (good or bad) so raw you can feel them at a glance. Hey, here's a shot of Angelina beadalina :)

I just wanted full features. . . for each ear to be the quintessential ear, the lips to be the epitomy of lips. Okay, so I'm not vain enough to think I've defined the way a face should look, but I'm happy with how they turned out.

I wanted to do the same thing with her expression, to make her all about the emotion she's feeling.

I purposely limited myself to ivory Moretti and whatever gold foil was laying under a spoon on the worktable.

She just seems so content with life, so serene in the knowledge that life is good.

This chick was only about halfway done when the phone rang. Had to finish her one-handed, so there was no more shaping except for what gravity could do as I twirled it in the flame with one hand and held the phone with the other hand.

Thanks for stopping by to visit with AngelinaBeadalina! I'm really just plain ol' Angie or Ang, but the catchy name does suit me in the sense that I'm a motormouth who loves to play with words almost as much as I love to play with glass! You can find me here at BeadArtists.org, in my Etsy shop, or in my daily blog. You can get links to those places at www.angelinabeadalina.com (click on it above). Please pardon the use of my "official" website as a traffic control signal at the moment-- at least, that's what it makes me think of when I look at it. . . lots of directions to other places where there are updates on a daily basis. Tech-stuff would not be one of those things that I love or that comes naturally to me ;) Well, enough rambling for now, come on in, look around. . . have fun exploring my glass experiments and ideas. Peace, Ang
