What happens when you lose your lifelong companion after forty or fifty years? Do you still feel that person's presence? or do you only feel the physical absence? Two beads made after hearing about another loss. Thinking about life and how to get all the different emotions distilled into glass.
Thinking about how you must still feel that person's presence, almost feel their hands stroking your cheek or protecting you.
It was hard to actually put this idea into glass. It's easier to get the physical points across than it is to convey the feeling.
Of course, I got this idea at the torch, after starting the head and making it an angle. Then I thought about showing the presence of hands of the loved one.
What if I couldn't get the hands to look gentle? What if they looked menacing instead because I was unable to get the glass to give me softly cupped hands?
I really like a challenge like this, ya know? I sure hope you get some feeling out of it when you look at it, because that's what I wanted to do-- evoke feelings and thought.
Naked without you.

Just the opposite of warm ivory and enveloping hands-- deep darkness and tears.

Thanks for stopping by to visit with AngelinaBeadalina! I'm really just plain ol' Angie or Ang, but the catchy name does suit me in the sense that I'm a motormouth who loves to play with words almost as much as I love to play with glass! You can find me here at BeadArtists.org, in my Etsy shop, or in my daily blog. You can get links to those places at www.angelinabeadalina.com (click on it above). Please pardon the use of my "official" website as a traffic control signal at the moment-- at least, that's what it makes me think of when I look at it. . . lots of directions to other places where there are updates on a daily basis. Tech-stuff would not be one of those things that I love or that comes naturally to me ;) Well, enough rambling for now, come on in, look around. . . have fun exploring my glass experiments and ideas. Peace, Ang

Very nice sculpture.
Yes, you do still "feel" the presence...forever. It can be VERY VERY good, and VERY VERY bad... (...that is my experience...even with super close people not known that long.) ...pay the good parts forward and leave the bad behind....breathe... Your text goes great with your work. take care.
