Eugena's Faux Cloisonne Hearts

Eugena's Faux Cloisonne Hearts

Posted by Eugena on 1/23/2007
I made these pendants out of polymer clay using my faux cloisonne technique.

Cloisonne is an old enameling technique that involves soldering wire onto the metal base and filling it up with glass enamels in various colors. The technique I am using, while still pretty tedious, is actually much simpler than the original one.

These pendants are available on my website along with the tutorial for this technique.

Thank you for stopping by and welcome to my gallery. I hope you have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in your hand and not in a hurry. I would like to show you a few unusual and elegant designs. You probably would not believe it, but all of them are made out of polymer clay.
For some reason, polymer clay is perceived as a material for funny and funky things, but in fact it can be anything. I do not know any other material that is as versatile as polymer clay. I can make polymer clay look like metal, stone, porcelain, leather, or something completely different and unique. I hope you will agree with me after seeing my collection. Please feel free to leave your comments – I would love to know what you think.
