This is something that I've been doing, adding animals to landscapes/seascapes...but now we are on safari!

I've been experimenting with Asian themed beads this week. Gelly, Nikki (NLC), and I have been working on different themes each week. This week is our Asian week. I loved creating these pieces!

I love masks, and adore making faces out of beads. I also adore cats in all shapes and sizes. I wanted a fun, artsy way of creating a "mask" or face of a big cat.

I can't believe I don't have a "gallery" just for birds...I make a lot of them.....there is always something magical about a creature with wings....wish I had them!

I was making a goddess bead the other day and suddenly she became so modest! Well, a little modest. I had such a good time letting my inner fashionista come out to play!

Dragonflies are always mysterious with their shiny iridescent colors and large eyes. I think they look especially beautiful next to richly colored flowers.

It has taken me quite awhile to where I feel good about my dragon beads....my first was such a sad, creepy sight!

Did I say I love to make landscapes? Well, what I really love is to try to create a multi-dimensional design...with raised florals in the foreground.

Cats and I have always been on the same wave length. They totally get me and I totally get them. It is only natural that they are some of my greatest inspirations!

I've revamped my Folk Art Cats...added a few curves, and extra details. I am very pleased with these!

I felt my green meadows were missing something and then it dawned on me...SHEEP!

As it may be evident, I love landscapes...AND trees! Wouldn't you know that I also love Impressionist paintings? These are my own kind of hommage to the Impressionistic greats such as Monet, Manet, and Van Gogh....the thing is...these beads had no actual painting involved!

I really love creating raised scenes on my beads. I love to have a design that you can touch and feel each of the parts. I used to encase these, but I get so much satisfaction when I make them this way!

I've always been fascinated with faces...drawing, sculpting, whatever! I love these and have some ideas for incorportating them into "art dolls".

These are some of my favorites to make! I try really hard to create a realistic ocean and shore.

Spring is here and the urge to make flowers is upon me!

I kind of fell upon these in an attempt to make a very imaginative bead with the flavor of the sea but without the realism. I made swirling scrolling designs and then decided to add dots, and what did I see, but the tentacles of an octopus? So much for abstract, but I still like them just as much!

Some thought I was kind of a scary little girl...I was always picking up some lizard, frog, or SNAKE! Perched upon a glass bead they becoming suddenly socially acceptable and they are surely addictive!

In the beginning, my first beads that I was very proud of, were my encased jellyfish beads. Being a Pisces, I seem to be naturally drawn to the sea. These are my newest additions in my sea creature "family". I am combining my love of landscapes with my love for animals.....

I do not make many sets because I get kind of tired of making the same basic bead over and over, but I've learned you don't have to do that to make a nice set. So here are the ones I've made this year!

These are landscapes from the land of dreams and fantasy.

I always seem to be going back to my favorite ocean themes. This time I'm focusing on tidal pools. Little pools of trapped ocean full of hidden life.

I am so in love with trees! I have always felt this way. Later, I discovered that my maiden name is actually derived from the Gaelic "Darragh" which means "oak"...it was only fate that I should make trees!

I don't know why it took me so long to really get into making turtles. Here I have jeweled turtles and totem turtles...very enjoyable to make and it is always nice to find a new use for a lentil!

My cats have been evolving! I have wanted to put whiskers on my cats since I started making them, but couldn't get consitent results. The other day when rummaging through my "stuff" I found a spool of niochrome high temperature wire...BINGO! It is applied into the cheeks while hot. Any loose pieces are secured with two part expoxy resin. These guys have a lot of character. I can't wait to make more!!!

There is a certain look that you get with clear glass and swirling frit that always makes me think of looking into water. Everytime I do it, that is the thought that goes through my mind so I decided that this time I would embrace it.
