A lot of my customers have mentioned that they only use 3 beads for their bracelets. In response, I'll be offering a few 3-bead sets per week on eBay.

Started in 2004, the Antiquity series sets are loose interpretations of ancient relics, beads, monuments, etc. I've been an armchair archaeologist since I was a child so this is my way of living vicariously through my glass art. :)

I'm working with baking soda and love the freshly-dug-from-the-earth effects - reminds me of ancient Roman glass. I will be adding more photos as I work on the series. :)

Updated 12/28/06!
Blue silver is just that - literally BLUE silver leaf. I purchased mine from www.howacoglass.com. It has some very interesting effects. I've only tried it out on Ivory so far but I'll continue to post my results in this gallery when I switched to another base glass.

Every once in a while, I have to step away from the organics and do something different - even if it's just to get back to the organics revived and refreshed. :)

UPDATED 11/02/06! Here are some of the custom orders I have done so far for 2006. I'm always happy to talk with anyone about recreating one of my sets/focals or working with a designer on a new project. Just email me at: buddha@tde.com

I recently ran my first auction where a designer can buy the beads I make in one typical torch day! Here are the results!
I plan to do this again before the end of the year! :)

UPDATED 12/28/06 - I've had enamels for years but rarely use them. Lately, I've been playing with them again and I'm totally enamoured!

UPDATED 12/14/06! I have fallen deeply in love with Light & Dark Silver Plum glass. Don't tell my husband! LOL I'll post my results here as I experiment further with this amazing glass. I know I'm late to the party here but then I often take up a new type of glass long after it's had a hayday. Oh well! Still fun!

Here I will share my experimental work for 2006. There is nothing finer than seeing what sort of odd and beautiful reactions one can get from experimentation. I love playing with glass! If you have questions, please feel free to ask @ buddha@tde.com

UPDATED 10/04/06! I haven't created a decent encased floral bead in over 3 years. Suddenly, yesterday, I had a breakthrough again! I'll be playing with more florals now that I have some of my inspiration back.

I've started using my large-hole mandrels again so all of the focals I create will be in this gallery vs. the regular focal gallery.

Here are the focals created in the last few months. Many of these can be ordered or similar ones created for your designing pleasure. Please contact me at buddha@tde.com for more information.

Since becoming a beadmaker, I don't make jewelry as often as I used to. Every once in a while, I feel the need to dress up a bead for family or friends, sometimes for sale. Here is a gallery of my jewelry work, mainly pendants.

They say you can't do it on a HotHead. I say... "I did it!" :D
Here are the longest beads I have made so far on my HotHead. Now that I've got a method worked out, I'll be making more for sure!

UPDATED 10/04/06! Wow! I'm getting some really great color out of standard silver, too! Very reminiscent of the Painted Desert. I'll definitely be working with this more, as well as a continued run with the Blue silver.

My first two tribe sets were a hit so I decided to make them a series. You can see the first two in my 2006 Designs gallery. I will be placing the rest of the sets in this sub-gallery so you can view them separately.

My name is Amber Van Meter. I have created high-quality artisan (lampwork) beads for six years now. I also have over 13 years of experience in jewelry design and silver work.
My beads are made by me in my garage studio. They are thoroughly inspected for flaws or defects. I properly kiln-anneal them to reduce the possibility of breakage due to internal stress. The beads are thoroughly cleaned and ready for your use as soon as you receive them. Most importantly, all of this means my beads are not mass-produced and are of the highest quality I can achieve.
I’m always open to suggestions for new designs so please feel free to contact me via email any time! :)
