'Twas the first full day back from vacation, and all thru the house, not a creature was torching especially not me. The children were busy with school and art, The hubby was already playing in his garage-- the ol' fart. Mommy and the Maytag had just started yet another load of clothes, when out in the studio there arose such a clatter, I just had to open the door to see what was the matter! The light on the forsaken glass gave the table such a glow. . . and that was it, had to torch! Actually, I had to wait until late last night to get my first chance to torch in almost two weeks. The ideas have been dancing in my head, just like the fabled sugar plums. So many ideas, so little time! I thought about this over vacation, and I have to find that balance that allows me to keep up with lampworking and still do all the stay-at-home mommy stuff. Oh, wah, you say-- everybody has the same problem. You're right, too. I know most of us struggle with finding the right balance between family and work. So that's my Christmas wish for you-- that you have one of those months when everything falls together with just the right balance. When you need a little break, come on back here for a visit. I'm going to be doing some more holiday themed beads. I'm just going to pace myself with some holiday beads, some beads for Tucson, some beads for special projects.

Side by side, they work through the holiday season. Santa is the "star" of the show, and he's the main base of this bead. Mrs. Claus is by his side, though, bringing balance and harmony in life and in this bead.

Profile of Santa with his red hat. Curly hair, a flowing beard, and fluffy collar.
|
Their hats entwined and joined with an ivory heart, these two companions discuss the day's agenda. Santa has some lists to double-check, and the Mrs. has some sugar cookies to bake.

Mrs. Claus was added to the base side of the bead after I squished it to the side and then shaped Santa. His beard flows more downward and to the right of the bead, while she is more to the left and toward the top of the bead.

The mandrel hole runs through Santa. This is the view from the top of his hat.
|
Just a bit of red hints at Santa's suit. This is the view of the mandrel hole from the bottom of the bead.

Thanks for stopping by to visit with AngelinaBeadalina! I'm really just plain ol' Angie or Ang, but the catchy name does suit me in the sense that I'm a motormouth who loves to play with words almost as much as I love to play with glass! You can find me here at BeadArtists.org, in my Etsy shop, or in my daily blog. You can get links to those places at www.angelinabeadalina.com (click on it above). Please pardon the use of my "official" website as a traffic control signal at the moment-- at least, that's what it makes me think of when I look at it. . . lots of directions to other places where there are updates on a daily basis. Tech-stuff would not be one of those things that I love or that comes naturally to me ;) Well, enough rambling for now, come on in, look around. . . have fun exploring my glass experiments and ideas. Peace, Ang
