Another "Get Back on the Torch" bead, Cosmos is a base of Moretti glass with sterling leaf and a blend of reactive frits, creating quite a surprise look for me - there wasn't a blue to be found - only brown, gold and white frits!!!

I wanted to see just how reactive a new frit was with Moretti Ivory. The answer was – VERY!! So I added a couple more things and pulled it around a bit, added a twist and a raised dot, and started thinking of the froth when the tide goes out….
Maybe I just need a vacation...

At some point in time everyone feels trapped inside of themselves - changed - by an event, a person, incredible emotion. Sometimes for whatever the reason you feel that you will never be the same. Well - you will. YOU are the same person, you just have to break out of yourself.
Emergence is just that - a core of Terra and Raku with a clear window, encased with Terra and Raku with intense black stringer ''bars'' over the window. A pinch of frit, a little sterling mesh and a twist with a raised clear dot and a small bubble are the only embellishments.
Difficult for me to make because of the healing involved, I hope that Emergence brings the same healing to whomever she is supposed to go to.
This focal is 44.5mm long x 24.5mm wide.

This is the first time that I've played with Palladium leaf - OMG that stuff clings to EVERYTHING!!!! Not to mention that you just LOOK at it and it blows away.... Maybe Ivory wasn't the colour to use as a first base, but I was having fun anyway (holding my breath, muttering curses, using pins like chopsticks.....)

It's been so cold and dreary here that I had to break from my latest run of neutral colours to play with some warm, springy colours in my Organic series. This focal is a mix of pres shapes - an XL lentil front with an XL tab back so it lies nicely without rolling around.

This is not my usual organic. This is a striated blend of Opal Yellow and Kronos 2, with silver foil and frit on top - then etched to within an inch of it's poor little life.

Iron Mountain Jewelry is a one person glass studio in sunny (sweltering) Bulverde, TX, in the hillcountry just north of San Antonio. I'm a self-taught lampworker who works full-time in an Interventional Radiology Lab and only get to play with hot, moulten glass when I've been good. Or when I can run fast enough to get away from my department. I've been playing with glass now for about 20 months, but if you add up the actual time, it's more like 8 or 9. I WANT SOME MORE!!!!!!
