Saturn's Seal

Saturn's Seal

Posted by Angelinabeadalina on 3/24/2009
Saturn's Seal of Protection graces one side, and an equilateral cross conveys more protection on the other side. Amber (*Naos*) suggested doing a Seal of Protection, and I had to look it up because I wasn't sure the one I'd seen was the same she mentioned...one thing I'm learning about talismans is that there have been many systems or beliefs with their own set of symbols. Time and location might change the alphabet and symbols chosen, but since we all feel the same needs for protection, good luck, etc, the names will often closely echo one another. Whatever the sources for the inspiration, the essence of a talisman made with care and thought will shine through in the end product, though. No matter what we try to capture in the glass, that instant recognition of the soul poured forth is one important goal.

The seals on each side can be turned either way and still show the same, so this bead could be wrapped around the lip at the smaller end or strung with the wider end at top and charms wrapped from the lip.

Thanks for stopping by to visit with AngelinaBeadalina! I'm really just plain ol' Angie or Ang, but the catchy name does suit me in the sense that I'm a motormouth who loves to play with words almost as much as I love to play with glass! You can find me here at BeadArtists.org, in my Etsy shop, or in my daily blog. You can get links to those places at www.angelinabeadalina.com (click on it above). Please pardon the use of my "official" website as a traffic control signal at the moment-- at least, that's what it makes me think of when I look at it. . . lots of directions to other places where there are updates on a daily basis. Tech-stuff would not be one of those things that I love or that comes naturally to me ;) Well, enough rambling for now, come on in, look around. . . have fun exploring my glass experiments and ideas. Peace, Ang
