The Purple Pullet?

The Purple Pullet?

Posted by Angelinabeadalina on 3/23/2009
These purple talismans are inspired by symbols of talismans in The Black Pullet, a grimoire you can find by googling the title The Black Pullet. Is the story made up? Oh, almost certainly. Is it incredibly interesting to look at all the talismans and try to understand the reasoning behind the symbols chosen for each one? Again, almost certainly! The symbol on the moonface bead is inspired by a Black Pullet talisman that gives the wearer healing powers. I did the colors of purple and white because purple often symbolizes spirituality and white symbolizes purity and free flow of energy. . .seems a healer would need those on her side. The other bead is inspired by a Black Pullet talisman to make the wearer good in all things. . .seems like a good one to have on your side, huh?

The symbol actually goes like this, and the written one has faces inside the triangles.

I hope turning a symbol upside down isn't always seen as hoping for the opposite, because I think this goddess looks good turned either way.

If I think magical and healing and the color white, there's not much chance that I won't think lunar :)

Thanks for stopping by to visit with AngelinaBeadalina! I'm really just plain ol' Angie or Ang, but the catchy name does suit me in the sense that I'm a motormouth who loves to play with words almost as much as I love to play with glass! You can find me here at BeadArtists.org, in my Etsy shop, or in my daily blog. You can get links to those places at www.angelinabeadalina.com (click on it above). Please pardon the use of my "official" website as a traffic control signal at the moment-- at least, that's what it makes me think of when I look at it. . . lots of directions to other places where there are updates on a daily basis. Tech-stuff would not be one of those things that I love or that comes naturally to me ;) Well, enough rambling for now, come on in, look around. . . have fun exploring my glass experiments and ideas. Peace, Ang
